Hi, all! Any Raleigh people out there? If so, holla back. I'd like to know
(1) Where you shop for products - give specifics about where it is; someone may want to go there
(2) Who currently has the best deals or best variety in good products
(3) What are your favorite off-the-shelf finds and why - how do you use it and what effect does it have

Hey, dajewel! What drew you down to Florida? My brother and his family live in St. Petersburg.

Re: Raleigh people
I have to admit that I do miss the changing of the weather in North Carolina, the State Fair (which I believe its last days are a couple of days from now), and the ACC football and basketball action.
St. Pete rocks!!!!! Their beaches are awesome!!! I went to Miami to pursue my undergraduate degree, and at the same time my father's job relocated the family to Orlando. I love the vibe down here. The weather(get to go the beach almost every weekend throughout the year), mix of cultures and the people(there is big Caribbean community here in Florida. YAY!!!!)!!! How long have you been living in Raleigh?

Re: Raleigh people
I've lived in Raleigh pretty much most of my life. As a child I attended a boarding school in Raleigh, then when I graduated from there I stayed in the area. In all my adult life I've only lived away from Raleigh for two years, which I spent in Durham. I found I liked Raleigh much better and came back. If I could live anywhere else in NC, it would be Asheville. It's in the mountains, but it's beautiful, and thanks to the Biltmore Estate and Grove Park Inn, it is becoming something of a mountain resort.

Hey! I am in Raleigh. I usually pick up my products from Walmart and Target. I did find Sistas Place online(it is in Durham) that sell sample products. I have not ordered anything but I plan to. I think Nikki has brought products from them. http://www.sistasplace.com/

I also pick up stuff from Wal-Mart; in fact, that is my default place. I occasionally get something from a drugstore.

Raleigh here! But I mostly shop for my hair items in Durham. It's just a lot easier for me to find what I need there.

Hi, tiashauntee, I like your hair in the profile pic. Are those twists or a twist-out? Being visually impaired, it isn't always easy for me to see things.

That style is actually the result from some plaits. I put them in for a week was in and out the pool and shower that entire week and when I took the plaits out, that was the result. I loved it while it lasted.

I think I will stop now, I won't be able to keep up with them all....looks like this may lead to another type of GTG. YES!
Re: Raleigh people
Hello there!
I find my shea butter at Northgate Mall (in Durham) at Kenya Fair Traders. It's pretty decent - my daughter loves to dig her hands in it and put it in her hair (as she has watched me do). Everything else, I find at Wally World or the Vitamin Shoppe - Briercreek.
I'm interested to find out where more products can be found in the area....great post!

Re: Raleigh people
There is a store in Northgate Mall that sells essential oils....and that store has everything. I forgot the name of it but I think it's down by Macy's.
There is also African Land in Lakewood Shopping Center (Durham) and that store has a lot of natural soaps and hair products.

Re: Raleigh people
Just wanted to let you all know:
I went to African Land last weekend and stocked up on some shea. He also has some essential oils, natural soaps, and other products in there. I also saw some Mango Butter, I want to try that one day.
I ended up buying a pair of earrings while I was there....I really like that little store.
