$95 dollars for some cornrows??!! Whatever!
I was wanting a cute style to wear when I go home to TN next week. I have a three day race in Sequatchie TN and I figured that some cornrows would be very cooling to the scalp since I had to take that helmet on and off a trillion times.
I was driving down the street (here in Wichita) and saw a place that said "African Hair Braiding". I was thinking cool. I will roll up in here and make an appointment and be ready for TN. I was wearing TST when I went in there so she asks me what I wanted done. I told her that I wanted some of those cute cornrows that are not manish or "hood" looking. I told he that I did not want any extentions, just my hair braided. She said without weave it is $95 dollars. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Whaaaaaaat! I politely gave her a "you must be out of your mind" look and said "no thank you" and left. I will stick with my raggedy looking homemade flattwists. There is nothing wrong with the look of the two-strand twist but they are hot under that helmet. It is like wearing a wool cap with earmuffs. I do not want to get overheated.
I called another place and they wanted $65 dollars. Whatever. They would probabaly pull my roots too tight and give me those white bumps anyway. Oh well.

Oh my goodness!!! thats just crazy
here in st.lucia we use EC currency so that would be equal to $240.30....Sure thing no St.Lucian would spend that much for some cornrows...The most anyone would pay for cornrows in St.Lucia is about $45EC or $15US.......Thats just crazyyyy!!!! You have no island friends that could braid?

Well, I guess that is what happens when you live in a place like Wichita, KS. I am going to get the hook up when I go home to Nashville next week!

Re: $95 dollars for some cornrows??!! Whatever!
Yea thats wayyyy tooo much for some regular conrows. I think sometimes people in those hair salons try to charge too much for different styles like that. Some people are silly enough to pay for it but not me haha!
Re: $95 dollars for some cornrows??!! Whatever!
Thank you ladies. I was in my right mind to tell them that they are crazy for those prices but I guess some people are paying those prices because they are still in business.
