Co-wash???

Hi everyone, I'm a new to the world of natural hair and new to this site and a little bit confused with some of the acronyms and terms. Can some explain to me what it means to 'co-wash' and how I would go about doing this?

I've been natural for 2 years now and wearing a weave as my hair transitioned. However, the weave has been gone for 3 weeks now and I'm getting use to this head full of 'stuff.'
