Dry TWA Help needed! Empty Dry TWA Help needed!

Post by CandiceKane 16th May 2010, 7:47 pm

I need help moisturizing my TWA. It has been very dry. I find myself washing daily or my version of cowashing. I learned online that I was doing this wrong. I have questions about the curly girl method and no 'cones. Please help. I will post a picture soon. My hair is probably a 3c and I transitioned for 3 months before my chop. My beautician got a little happy and I ended up with my sides and back tapered. I am loving my hair now but do not want to look like a frizz ball.
My routine-
spritzing with water
adding Parnevu conditioner
kinky curly curling custard and black and sassy creamy set (one of these 2 made balls of product on my hair)
jojaba oil to seal

please help [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Kinky Curly doesn't play well with too many products other than Knot Today, so this may be where the balls came from)...

Jlowman1-TRUE INDEED, if you put anything else in there it is over.

You may want to also try a good leave in condish. Basically it is trial and error. You can read a lot on the web but what works for one person may not work for you. So keep trying and your hair will let you know what is good and what is not.

I think you should use the jojoba oil before you apply your KCCC, after your conditioner.

CandiceKane- I just did the BC Sat and I used Kinky Curly Custard this morning with Knot Today and Oyin Products, I had little gooey white balls in my hair. I am looking forward to the response.

Using KCCC on your hair after you just BC'd is not really good idea bc not only does it give you major shrinkage, it dries your hair out especially if you are heavy handed with it.

I would advise using an a curl gel activator because it contains glycerin in it which gives much needed moisture to the hair when you first BC....this if you want to use gels at all....

KCCC can't be used with a lot of conditioners especially if they are protein based or very creamy, it will really dry your hair out and create white gunks of product in your hair.....if you must use KCCC use the Knot Today under it and a good moisturizer and remember to use just a lil bit...it goes a long way.....
