Can someone explain how the sealing aspect of moisturizing hair?

Sealing makes sure that the hair is going to remain moisturized. Usually, I use a water based product (usually a thick conditioner like Trader Joes Nourish Spa Conditioner or Herbal Essences Hello Hydration) and seal with an oil (extra virgin coconut oil, shea butter, or olive oil) and that keeps my hair moisturized for a while.


I'm bad at explaining things, but I hope I helped.
