More breakage than before

I have been perm free 11 months now...12 months on June 6th! (Yay me!)
I still use heat on my hair...maybe twice a month. I switched stylist recently to one that specializes in natural hair care and she point out that my hair is breaking off severely...her words..."it's like its been burnt off" (about a dime size area in the middle of my head where the hair is less than an inch long)

I have no relaxer left in my hair. Some color in the front but not where my hair is damaged. I still get press and curls or get it blown dry and straightened with flat iron MAYBE once a month. It seems as though my hair needs to be trimmed more than when i had a relaxer.

I'm welcome to any and all suggestions, as I'm looking for healthy growth.

I would stop using heat, look for a moisturizing DC and try protective styles for a while.
