FRONT HAIR GROWTH ANYONE? Empty FRONT HAIR GROWTH ANYONE?

Post by Miz B 10th November 2009, 4:00 pm

Can anyone explain slow hair growth in the front? I'm trying to be patient! Transitioning since May 2008. Long term, not gonna BC. My stylist said most of the relaxed ends are just about gone. I would like to part my hair on the side but it's not long enough to hang that way. My staple style has been the frohawk. Any suggestions? Maybe wear a protective style for a while?

I've experienced the same thing and attributed it to flat ironing my bangs all the time, but even when I stopped that, nothing changed. I tried to do some research and found some outrageous reasons [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] . All I can think of is that the front part is in the resting stage and the back part is in the growing stage.

Aaaaaw maaan! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Well, I need the resting stage to wake up! hahaha....thanks for the info. I'd like to do more buns without using product to sleek it down. urrrgh..oh well patience. I'm thinking to put my hair in a protective style for the rest of the winter to decrease manipulation.

I know!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I wish mine would wake up too. What I did was put my hair in a bun and put bobby pins in the front or take the front part out and twist it, but like you said, patience, is key.

I actually have the opposite issue when my hair is growing like its supposed to. My front/top grows super fast while the back grows super slow. I think its from all those years of relaxers...

I would have to keep the back laid in order to keep this hairstyle looking fly. That meant relaxing the back way more than I had to relax the front or top. The things we used to do to keep a hairstyle lol

you should try protective styling like twist(i know for sure this help the front of my hair.) my sister cut of about 4 in of my hair in the front leaving me with about 1-1.5 inches of hair keep my twist and bamb 4 months or so my hair was touching my forehead and continues to grow.

you said you wish your hair would wake up try nightly messages with your fav. oil this will stimulate the scalp and bring nutrients as well. rub with the pads of your fingers. Its also relaxing i try to do five mins. everynight.

That's all i have right now
good luck [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
