...and I'm not mad at Julia. I've stopped wearing deodorant recently. Look at that bottle of Secret and Dove. I really want to know why Tide is in my deodorant.

I've been using the all natural deodorant from Oyin for about 3 months and I love it.

I tried Tom's Natural deodorant but eventually went back to regular because I got a little smelly too quickly with Tom's.

I may give Oyin a try, though. Newcurlieque, does it work well or do you have to freshen up after a few hours?

I am being totally honest....I do not have to freshen up hours later. I can go all day with it and not get the wiffs. And trust me I check. On Monday, I went to the gym, I worked up a pretty good sweat and when I finished I checked and still no stink so I'm hooked. My husband even uses it and he's in the gym 6 days a week.

Ladies, there are recipes online to make your own deodorant with coconut oil, baking soda and corn starch. Do a Google search and you'll find some. Also YT has several videos. Why spend the money when you can make it much cheaper yourself. And yes they work...

Tide...there are sulfates in deodorant. The same ones that are in detergents. We are putting way too many harsh chemicals on our bodies. We won't even talk about what we put in it.

Wow out of all the homemade concoctions I've been trying to make, I didn't even think of that one, thanks for the tip!

I'm sure their is a homemade concoction for everything. I've played with making my own bodywashes and lotions. Now those haven't come out that great, but I'm not giving up. I'm using castile soap and trying to find the right mix to make it stretch so I won't feel like I'm spending too much money. Whole Foods has a bottle of soap for $3 that isn't bad and its a good size, but there are ingredients I'm not sure of so I won't commit to it just yet. They also have lotions about the same price as well, but I haven't tried them.

I came up with my own massage bar that we use in the shower after washing and it's great. You don't even need to use lotion afterwards cause it leaves your skin so smooth. All it is is cocoa butter, shea butter, evoo, coconut oil and a little vitamin e. I don't even really measure either I just eyeball it. I've been making them for a while now and I love them.

I started using the Oyin Funk Butter and so wanted it to work, but it didn't. It irritated my skin so much. The consistency and smell were great.

Interesting that Tide is in deodorant that seeps into your skin--especially since that area is so close to the breast......................

Yes, thanks for the info! I'm going to have to check out that Oyin stuff. I sweat easily and have been afraid of using natural deodorants in fear of the dreaded funk!

My husband has used the Tom's deodorant but it didn't work out very well all the time and it irritated his skin.

I appreciate you guys sharing this information. I use Secret and I'll be eliminating it and searching for a natural alternative.

I've been looking at Oyin's natural deodorant...so can you give a little more details. I don't really sweat, and I don't want to start. I use secret does Oyin work as well? What type of smell...I love fragrance!!
