Nicest Compliment EVER

True Story....

Because of the warm weather and the mornings circumstances (kid free!!!) I was feeling very free, funky, and oh so "Bohemian" today [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] , I met a few friends at a local place called Busboys and Poets. Picture very comfy, New York Village type ambience. Sitting there in the area they call 'The Poets Cafe' we were having a great time, laughing talking, etc. and the topic of my having gone natural came up. My girlfried s (the BEST EVER!!) are all very supportive and were asking tons of questions and giving me all kinds of positive feedback.

Then it happened.... A woman, who I found later was from out of town, was sitting near by with her friends and over heard the conversation about my hair & came over very nice like, and asked if she could ask me a big favor. Not that race matters but she was white. Her big favor was to be able to touch my hair. No big deal right? Usually not, at least not for me, but in her case it was. She's blind and all that she heard us talking about from the look, the feel of my hair, etc. intrigued her so much that she had to know what it was we were talking about. She said she had never heard of "natural hair" before and was extremely curious.

So I said yes & allowed her to touch my hair. All I can say is....... WOW.......... She was extremely inquisitive. After she was finished "looking" at my hair, as she called it, she said, and I quote, "Your hair looks amazing! It's like the perfect cozy spot in heaven for napping on such a beautiful day like today." So how do you respond to compliment like that?? I was just about speechless. After I sputtered out an extremely heart felt thank you, she asked a ton of questions and made more comments (all very positive) and needless to say, she and her friends joined me and mine and we all had a fabulous afternoon.

So, for all the days that my hair does something wacky (and it has been acting like Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde on crack lately) I'm going to find it hard to think of it in a negative light, thanks to Amanda Leigh, my new friend who "saw" natural hair for the very 1st time through me.

It's amazing how other people "see" us.

Yeah..... Just about speechless and WOW sums up my response exactly. She was completely amazed by the "look" of natural hair.

I still have no words.

If I could "LOVE" this , I would. I would have been speechless as well. That is the best compliment anyone could ever give. Ever.

Wow! How touching. The amazing thing is Amanda is seeing impaired and can appreciate your hair by touching it and some people who can see don't give natural hair a chance. They judge it and count it out. If you know what I mean or if that makes sense.

That had to be an amazing feeling to have her say that to you. And of course it would happen at Busboys and Poets. I love that place. Such cool people hang out there....and the food and atmosphere are great....just a laidback cool vibe.

Anytime your hair is acting "whacky" now all you need to do is think about the compliment. Sweet!

That is just it. Since going natural, I have had a majority of positive experiences and comments with the occacional, "I just wanna punch you in the mouth" experiences [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] (I'm really not a violent person.... but you get my meaning)

No worries...... I'm sailing high with her very simple but tender compliment and will like I said earlier NEVER FORGET IT.

I use this website to do it!!! It's really easy and you don't even have to sign up for anything! You just to pick the pictures you want to use and make your animated picture
