I LOVE CASTOR OIL!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Ok, now that that's out I can answer your question. I've only been using castor oil for maybe 2 months now and my hair loves it. I apply castor oil to the full length of my hair while it is wet(over a leave in moisturizer and coconut oil). Not only is it great for sealing but it makes your hair sooo soft. I've used it on both two strand twists and flat twists and my hair loves it either way. I'll vouch for castor oil anyday.

hmmm, i was thinking of using it after i apply the leave-in and while i do my twists. because i am cautious it being too thick and heavy for my hair, maybe mix it with evco and apply on the last 1/2 of the strand?

That would probably be best for you if your hair has a problem with the thickness of it. My hair loves it. I apply it to the full length of each individual twist as I'm twisting it. If my hair starts to dry I'll spritz it with a little water/conditioner mix. Let me know how it goes.
Oh...question: Do you plan to use regular castor oil or black castor oil? I've never used the black castor oil and don't know if there is any real difference to them.

i wanted to use castor oil to help keeping the moisture in my hair. maybe i will do a water/aloe/shea(and some condition) mix for daily moisture?? hmmm....
i was using the regular castor oil. the black(Jamaican) has a smell that i don't desire.

I use it on my scalp to help promote thickness and it has helped a lot. I will start using it on my ends once I get some more!

I love Castor oil only for it's thickness. I don't think I can seal with coconut oil alone.
