Micro or Box Braids for protection
Ladies any advise on braiding???
I want to braid my hair W/extentions for about 2-3 months can you give me some advise on the best hair to use and what would be best Micro Braids or Box Braids??
I want to braid all the way down so i dont have to take care of any hair just ponytails and bunning..
Thanks in advance

It really depends on what your hair likes... My hair tends to not do so well with extension braids (micro and box) and really well with weaves. This is not the case for everybody. Find out what your hair likes [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
In terms of wearing braids for 2-3 months, I would advise against doing this. I kept extension braids in for 2 months and my hair paid the price (breakage, dryness, etc) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] . I would suggest 2 months max, as long as you're redoing the edges every 2-3 weeks.
Experiment with different styles! Just remember to keep your hair conditioned and moisturized in the process.
Hope this helps [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: Micro or Box Braids for protection
I wore the box braids for the beginning of my transition over the summer. I personally dont like Micros because of the loose hair or the extra that isnt braided. I think 3 months is a long time to leave any kind of braids in. Im actually about to get my hair in box braids ASAP and give my fro a break!!!

You can also try kinky twists! I have them in right now. They're easy to wash and they don't slip out, at least I've never experienced them slipping out. You can choose the size too. I have medium sized twist in now. I love them! I'm going to keep them in for about 2 months. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

AVOID MICROBRAIDS!
I just took out my microbraids (i did microbraids in the front, weave in the back) and its significantly short than it used to be [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] . I figured weaves are great for my hair and microbraids, I've never tried... I've heard people say that microbraids have done wonders for their hair, but im left wondering why on God's green earth I put them in in the first place [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] lol.
On the bright side, this is a step towards growing out my heat damaged hair [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I got box braids but they were a smidge bigger than micros. My momma did 'em. Love that lady.
