Hair Accessories
Good Morning Curlies,
I'm looking for a good place to find cute hair accessories. Preferably satin scrunchies and double headbands (or the appearance of). I like cute flowers too. If any of you know where I can look for this, I would appreciate.
Thanks and have a good hump day!

Re: Hair Accessories
Hi Enchantment!
Check around at Dollar stores. I was able to find some really cute hair accessories there. Some of them have metal on them that can pull or snag your hair, so don't get those. Make sure you check around at WalMart and Target. They often have stuff on clearance, and I've been able to find some cute, inexpensive stuff as a result. I've also heard of people getting inexpensive accessories from Claire's, Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe. Oh, check H&M too. I bought some flower clips in pink and black from there.
Have you considered making your own. It's really easy. I don't know how to attach images otherwise I'd show you some of the ones I've made. If I figure it out, I'll post some pics.

Re: Hair Accessories
Thanks ladies! I have been to most of these places, but I still haven't found satin scrunchies. For my wedding, my girlfriend made me a flower, it was beautiful and then all of my friends wanted one, so she told them when they get married, she will do it for them, lol. I would love to beg her to make more, but it seems like she's not going to do anymore unless a wedding is involved, lol. I search for accessories everytime I'm out, like I search for products, lol.

Have you tried Steinmart? I stumble across some weird finds there at times. It's hit or miss though and I wouldn't make a special trip. Maybe next time your at the Summit drive to the one on Hwy 280, that's where I find a lot of odd items....
You should tell your friend that the flower would make wonderful, low cost Christmas gifts

Re: Hair Accessories
It's funny that you should ask, just last night I was in Publix (grocery store) and the young lady complimented me on my leather jacket and told me she had bought a similar one in a different color from Stein Mart and then it hit me, that's where I had bought my jacket from like 4 years ago. She used to work there and swears the one in Hoover is the best one, lol. I will check it out! Thank you!

Re: Hair Accessories
I found satin scrunchies at my local BSS. There were three in the pack and they were $2 or $3 I can't remember. I've also seen them at Walmart. I may have seen them at Walgreens too...I go to so many different stores and look at accessories and products that I can't keep it all straight. But I know I definitely saw them at Walmart. Check a few different Walmart's, as each one seems to carry different stuff.

Thanks traveljunkie, I was just reminded by your post I haven't checked Walgreens. What's BSS? I have checked maybe 2 Walmarts. Walmart is the devil, I hate going in there, lol

BSS=beauty supply store.
And I'm totally with you on Walmart. I've been talking myself out of going for the last two days. I don't need ANYTHING, yet I know if I go in there I'll buy SOMETHING.

You can also try http://www.etsy.com. They have so many awesome hair accessories. It's kind of addictive.

The flower headband I have in my head on the pic is from Dollar General, but to my surprise Urban Outfitters online has a WONDERFUL collection of hair accessories. Forever 21 has GREAT ones too. I have to shop online because I am in Iraq working so you find out A LOT when you have time to search the net all day! LOL!! I hope the links below help all of you:

Re: Hair Accessories
Did a little web searching and found two sites that sell in bulk (usally a dozen). The prices are not bad and maybe you can share. Or maybe we can set-up a swap.
www.wendlerswholesale.com I like this one the best.
www.haloheaven.com I think this one is geared toward kids. But they do have the flower clips. Or if you like to make your own clips, they have some options.
If I run across any others...

I second etsy.com... Or get your friend to just show you how to make them and then you come back and show us! lol It could actually be fun yall could have a "craft party" and invite all the friends over and do it together... over wine of course.

I LOVE this thread!!! I'll probably do an article on accessories in the near future and use the links you gorgeous gals provided...you did my homework for me
Re: Hair Accessories
I finally figured out how to attach pics, so here are pics of some of the accessories I've made. This was my first attempt, so it was a bit of a learning process. I know what to do and what not to do for next time.
Also, I tend to like the small flowers, but large or small, the way you make them is the same. All you need is a glue gun, flowers/decorative items from Micheals (or any other craft store), ribbon, scissors, a lighter and the hardware (combs, headbands, etc.).
Happy crafting!
