Thin Hair at my Nape Empty Thin Hair at my Nape

Post by Offandrunning 2nd February 2010, 12:58 am

Hi guys, i need some help. When i was relaxed i always wore my hair short with the back tapered. To keep my hair smooth, i always tied it up with a scarf. With it being short, basically a dude cut in the back, i never noticed how the scarf was thinning out my hair. Now that my hair is natural in the back and growing, it is extremely thin on the nape. My left side is thinner than the right side but both are extremely thin compared to the rest of my hair. My question is does anyone have any ideas/suggestion for growing in the thin areas at the nape of my neck? I was thinking about trying some oil infused with rosemary and sage. Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

Sorry, I don't have a suggestion, but just a little info. Maybe the scarf didn't thin you out. It could just be the way your hair grows. My hair has been thin on the edges and nape all my life, I used to never wear scarfs.

Why don't you try using castor oil on your thin spots. Lots of people rave about castor oil for hair thickening. I'm doing Tiashauntee's challenge in hopes that it will work for me as well.

@jackie, you could be right....i havent had hair in the back for years so maybe that is the way it grows....
@coca i have castor oil and have been putting on my edges in hopes that it will soften them up so maybe it will do double duty...soften and thicken...

fingers crosssed Neutral that something works!!!!

Yeah, I was thinking of castor oil as well. I have JBCO. I know once I stopped getting relaxers, my nape grew and filled in nicely. Now it reaches to the top of my shoulder.
