Lexiwithcurls on YouTube has a video using the hair glove. I love plopping. My hair takes all day to air dry (8-10 hrs). Plopping cuts that does tremendously (3-5 hours). Of course, the type of product you use determines drying time too. Hope this helps.

I haven't tried the glove but I've read reviews from people on naturallycurly.com who bought it and liked it.

However, I [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] plopping! It's my hair's BFF Smile! Not only does it cut down on drying time but the longer you do it the more enhanced your curls are!

Using a t-shirt to dry your hair. You put a tshirt on your head like you do one of those twisty turbie thingys. I usually leave mine on about 5-10 minutes. It speeds up drying time, cuts down on frizz that towels can cause and JC said it enhances her curls (have to pay more attention the next time I do it). Hope this makes sense.

Check out Lexiwithcurls on YouTube. She has a tutorial/review on it.

Thanks Lynnieluve. I have been doing this since I was like in the 8th grade, but I never called it that.

Ok, so when you "plop" you can do so with the conditioner and/or any product that you'll have in your hair or should you wait until after your hair has plopped to apply that stuff?

Thanks for the description about the t-shirt method and glove. It's interesting to read about different techniques. I don't use anything anymore, no towels, nothing. I come out of the shower dripping wet (I shrug on a terry towel dressing gown) and then immediately start applying leave in to my hair. I have found that I only need to use a little leave in when my hair is dripping wet. Then I seal with Vatika oil, braid and by the time I put it up into a bun all the excess water has gone.

I plop before I apply product. I think I have seen a few videos where people plop with product in there hair when the style of choice is a wash n go. I am a two strand twisting fool [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] so that's why I plop with no product.

I plop after I apply my leave in and styler.

Here's Jessicurl's video on plopping aka plunking:

Is that all you do? Just wrap a white cotton t-shirt around your head and that's called plopping? So you're not touching the hair at all? Are there any video's on this?
