New Shampoo (shea moisture)
So I have been natural for almost a year and a half. My last perm was October 2009 and I did my BC September 2010 (long transition). I am looking to try a new shampoo and was wondering if anyone tried the Shea moisture line? I was looking to buy the Shea moisture shampoo and noticed that they have two types the Shea moisture African black soap deep cleansing shampoo and the brilliant curl shampoo. I wash my hair once a week and I have been using the Giovanni 50:50 shampoo for about two months now and just realized today that it is a clarifying shampoo. (I guess I should have paid attention lol)

I have the SheaMoisture Moisture Retention Shampoo. It is a gentle cleanser that does not clarify. But it does leave your hair feeling very moisturized.

Thanks NhappyJackie. I am going to try that

idk about the shea mositure shampoos as i don't use shampoos at all but i would go for the black soap one because i wash y hair with pure african black soap often and it cleanse and doesn't strip my hair

I use the moisture retention and the brilliant curl and they both work very well for me. very gentle and moisturizing, smell great and are enough to make my hair feel clean on a weekly basis. These are the only shampoos I use (besides my clarifying poo). Highly recommend.

Thanks so much guys. I actually just ran to Target and got the Shea moisture retention shampoo (they only had this one in stock) and I cant wait to try it. I am sure it is going to make a huge difference in my hair.

Re: New Shampoo (shea moisture)
Ok so I was finally able to try the Raw Shea Moisture shampoo last night and let me tell you I am in love. I absolutely love this shampoo. It left my hair feeling clean but also moisturized and the best part was that it didn't require me to use as whole lot of it on my hair. This will definitely become one of my staple products.

I have been using the Raw SheaButter Retention Shampoo, Deep Treatment and their Coconut & Hibicus Curl Enhancing Smoothie (2-strand twists & braids outs) since February and I love that line.
The shampoo is the bomb, it sets the tone for everything else afterwards. My hair is moisturizered and I can actually detangle my hair with the shampoo without conditioner. I love that line because sheabutter is the primary ingredient and my hair loves sheabutter mixed either with water and/or oils. It's my staple product line.

Here's another good thing since you live in H-Town like me, you don't have to order on-line and wait 2 to 4 weeks for your products, you can go to your local Target. Also, you can try it once and if you don't like it, you can always take it back and get a refund. You can not do that with on-line products. Lastly, it cost "only" $9.99 (12oz) on all their products, that's great for an all natural line. All the others popular ones range $16.50 or more (not incl. shipping cost) and for 8oz or less sometimes. I did the math, so I gave it a try.
By the way, I learned the hard way that not all Targets carry it. The Target in the Galleria for example (San Felipe/Post Oak) doesn't. But the one off Beltway 8/Westheimer does plus I can buy my Kinky Curly Knot Today there as well (make my Kimmaytube Leave-In mixture); its one stop shopping for me. If your Target is near the "hood" or African-Americans shop there frequently then that store probably carries it, call them first.

Re: New Shampoo (shea moisture)
Hey yall, i used the moisture retention on my daughter but i mixed it with baking soda. That combination clarified her hair leaving no build up but it was very moisturized and easy to detangle
Re: New Shampoo (shea moisture)
I might have to try this. My hair loves the Curl Enhancing Smoothie. Do y'all know if they have a DT in the coconut & hibiscus line? I didn't like the other one...

The Target on San Felipe carries very minimal in terms of 'ethnic' anything ... lol. I work over there and sometimes make lunchtime runs. I'm actually in the parkin lot at Walgreens doing last minute research before I make my purchase (sad, I know ...).
