Box braids...over 40 y.o.?

I am planning to comb out my locs late spring and would like to wear big, rope-y box braids this summer as a protective style. A do or a don't? Should probably let my hair "breathe" after the locs, uh?

Just don't put any beads in!

That might be pushing it a little but I think that if you made them a little smaller I feel it should be ok
