Do you really need a PROTECTIVE style??

Some people really obessess over protive styles.
My question is cant i just wear a hat? or do you really need a protective stlye?

You can "protect" your hair from the harsh winter with a hat but other benefits to protective styling are:

- less manipulation of the hair
- your hair hold moisture better in protective styles
- less manipulation + moisture = length retention

With that being said, some people are able to retain length by doing wash n gos year round. It just depends on your preference and what your hair likes.
