Jamila vs. Karishma Herbal
I just tried the Karishma Herbal henna and I must say that I have fallen in love with henna all over again. I was reading about some henna and everyone has said that Nupur henna is even better than the Karishma and Jamila. Here are my findings.
$1.99 for 200 grams of Karishma
$1.49 for 100 grams of jamila
[b]Karishma Herbal Henna
-contains amla, shikakai (promotes hair growth and creates ph balance), aritha (a natural shampoo), bhringraj (gives a calming effect and promotes good sleep. Also treats hair loss and premature greying)and other stuff.
-it seemd to be siltier than jamila.
-it mixed very easy and I just used tea and honey.
-smells the same as jamila
-MORE color deposit that Jamila
-My hair was not as straw liek when I used the karishma herbal henna.
-rinsed very well. Tingly scalp feeling from the bhringraj.
-1 pack of karishma is 2 boxes of jamila. It makes ALOT
-you can see a color change with karishma just like with jamila
-It was easy to apply
My only problem now is what to do with those 4 boxes of jamila! I do not want to use it now that the karishma is better!

Re: Jamila vs. Karishma Herbal
Use the Jamilla for henna glosses. You'll have enough for glosses for a looooong while.

It has herbs added but no indigo or cassia. I get mine at the asian market.

Is your henna gloss the same recipe as CN's henna gloss? Do you henna gloss between henna's?
Re: Jamila vs. Karishma Herbal
Ok, I'll see if we have an Asian or Indian market near me. I was gonna check for one anyway. Thanks!

Dream, I think its similiar to Nikki's. I use 4 parts conditioner to 1 part henna. It works out to about 6 ounces of conditioner to 1.5 (approx 45 grams) henna. I'm actually getting ready to do a gloss now. I would like to do it weekly, but I just don't have the time.

How long do you keep your henna gloss in? Is it just a rinse?
Re: Jamila vs. Karishma Herbal
I had to add more conditioner because the henna soaked it up and it was too thick to spread easily in my hair. I didn't measure this time, I just added it until the henna was more spreadable. I left it in this time about 5 or 6 hours, fell asleep . Wound up rinsing it out in the early, early hours of the morning. The last time I used my bonnet dryer to keep it warm for 2 hours. I think I will go with the dryer method. It takes less time.

Would you be willing to sell/swap your Jamila henna. I use Jamilla and would be willing to buy it or do a swap...all I really have is products ie, some CD stuff some Phyto stuff, but I'd buy it from you! Send me a private message if you are interested!

Oh boy! I do not remember really! I know I added the tea and honey but I do not know how much. I am bad for not measuring my liquids for my henna. I know that it was at least two cups or more of tea and about 1/3 cup of honey.

If the length of your hair is correct in your avatar, then my suggestion would be this mix
100 grams henna (usually 1 box
1 cup tea (add in slowly, adding more to get the pancake batter consistency)
3 tablespoons honey (right before adding it to your hair)
whatever other ingredients you wish to add
You will probably have some left over. Just freeze it until you are ready to do another henna.
Good Luck...keep us posted with your results!

How do you thaw frozen henna? When I did it before, I used a double boiler method on my stove until it was slightly warm, but I wonder if I should have just left it out for a day or so to thaw naturally...

I straight put it in the microwave...LOL! I couldn't wait any longer (I'm so impatient). It wasn't enough for my whole head, so after defrosting, I mixed in a new batch with it. The color was beautiful with the frozen henna added!

Ah, LOL! I don't have a microwave (nor want one) so that's not an option. I guess if you can put it in a microwave and have it still be fine, I guess what I'm doing is OK too.

Yeah girl, sometimes we have to reflect on the words of Malcolm X..."By any means necessary......I will defrost this henna"...LOL!

I will put my baggy of frozen henna in a bowl of boiling hot water and let it hand out until it unthaws.
