IB, you had me tearing up from reading this post about your husband and the BC! I am so excited for you and him! Girl, if I could do cartwheels on here, I would! You have no idea what kind of impact you have had on me in the short time that I have been reading your posts. You really inspired me to do the BC (this weekend, hopefully)! I feel like if you can do it, I can too! I have read people saying that they just did it, and I was apprehensive about it...but knowing that I wasn't the only one who has some trepidation about it gave me more confidence.

So anyway, get to chopping and let us see as soon as you finish! I will be like sweetdrk1...I will be awake waiting for the result!

I posted pics last night as a separte thread, which is not what I meant to do. But was too exhausted to figure it out.... .

My experience was very pleasant. I am so glad it was done this way. My husband was awesome. He saw the youtube video and said there is no way she was able to cut that hair in 10 mins and do it right.... At the end of everything, I think he was right . It was such a process to get the permed hair out but he did everything: The BC, the wash and condition I had to wash again after rinsing out overnight DC because the hair was tangled and I had the nerve to put in that gritty marshmallow root powder. So pooed with diluted Revlon detangler and conditioned with AO HSR. He cut again then cowashed with Suave then with AO HSR condish. Leave in condish was HE Hello hydration (1st time using) and my whipped shea/oil mix to seal. Also applied castor oil to my scalp. I didnt touch my hair at all until it was time to style because my DH had it . He was great . Though he made little comments here and there saying: "GOODBYE, BEAUTIFUL PERMED HAIR. I WILL MISS YOU." But yet he was all into it, he said his years of doing hair kicked in... .
My first impression of my hair at first look it was YES!!! I LOVE IT!!! IT FITS MY FACE AND MY PERSONALITY!!!! I CAN ROCK THIS!!!

We were finished with the BC at about 9:30pm but because I neglected my hair for 2-3 days. I was paying for it. The hair was so knotted and tangled. So I took me 2 and half hours to detangle, twist and roll. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER AGAIN WILL I NEGLECT MY HAIR IN THAT WAY!!!! .
I am so happy this morning. I was praying to the Lord and just telling him thank you for making me, and all of me. And I will never again, look at myself or others physical appearance in a boxed light. We are all different and there is beauty in all of us. We need to look at people THAT WAY. .

Anyhoo, my hair will remain in the twist n rod set until tomorrow because it is rain/snowing over here all day today. I will unravel tomorrow because I have a busy day.

KeishaMac, I am so happy I inspired you to BC early. You will look beautiful and you are ready. It is so important to have information on this beforehand. It just makes it alot easier.

I have to give MAHOGANY CURLS AND xGOLDn some HUGE HUGS AND LOVE for all they do for us. Taking the time to make videos and tutorials about their experience and this process. It made all the difference in MY WORLD.

WOOT WOOT! Your hair is beautiful!!! I am so proud of you and your hubby for taking this brave step. No, I don't mind about the phrase at all (maybe I heard it somewhere else before???). That is funny that you were a little apprehensive about going to the salon but hubby stepped right in and used his skills to help. That is great!
