Shea Moisture DT on a Braidout

I am considering using Sheamoisture DT as a leave-in and styling my daughters hair with a braidout.
Has anyone tried this product and style?

I haven't used the DT Masque for a braid out but used it to do coils (then a coil out) and loved it! My hair was soft, shiny, and frizz free.

Come to think of it, I've never used this product for a DT. I alternate between it and the Curl Enhancing Smoothie as a leave-in. The DT Masque has more hold than the smoothie so I think its great for 'out' styles. Just remember a little goes a long way! Hope that helps!

Hey I just used the SheaMoisture Deep Treatment Mask for a twistout and I got great definition and moisture. I was very impressed and will be using it from now on.

I used the DT for a moisturizer/styler and it works great!! For me, it works best that way.....not so great as a DT since they added more shea butter to the mix.

i agree with you about it as a DC... not that happy about the results unless you mix it with more oil. i did evoo

I did not care for it as deep conditioner at either. My hair laughed at it.
When used to re-twist a twist n curl it worked famously. I got a few compliments on it at work. It My hair was not weighed down too much either.

Me too. Love it for my twist outs but as a dt it was blah.

I echo lackluster results as a deep condish. My braidouts are defined with it, but I have to apply coconut oil or honey or something for sheen. Shea products make my hair look dull.

I absolutely LOVE Shea Moisture Masque as a deep conditioner. I tried another DC a week ago (because I'm still finding the best products for my hair regimen) and couldn't wait to get back to my Shea Moisture I think that one's a keeper for my DTs.

@ the time that i used the masque i didnt realize it was actually good! my next wash day i used a different DC and after i rinsed my curls didnt pop like before. maybe the texture and consistancy of it made me feel like the product wasnt penetrating the hair and moisturizing my strands but it definately was

It smells sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good too.
