Has anyone tried Cassia henna?
Hi ladies,
I'm not a fan of color in my hair, if anything I usually go darker. I read on butters-n-bars.com that cassia will not lighten your hair and so I ordered it because I really just want to use it as a treament...
Just wondering if any of you has tried cassia and what was your experience with it?
Thanks,
~Belle

I haven't tried cassia either but I was planning to order some along with amla. Can't wait to hear your experience with it.

Ladies, you have lovely hair!
I haven't gotten my shipment yet, but I will let you know once I tried.
I am thinking of mixing it up with conditioner (Suave's tropical coconut) and trying it as a DC - fingers crossed!!

Cassia will turn gray or white hairs to a shade of blonde if there is dye release. I have used cassia and henna. my hair is off black and my grays have gone from gold to shiny new penny to dark copper/bronze. I have learned to use amla with cassia and henna.

@Naturallynike - I just checked your pics, lovely!!! I'm even more excited to try Cassia now that I've seen the results. If only my dang package would get here already lol. Thank you for sharing!
@choctaw - thank you for sharing that as well. I'm trying to convince my mom and aunt to let me try henna on them, maybe they'll be more open to the idea of cassia

Hola curlies,
I finally tried my cassia DT -- but I'm not sure if I did it right...
I mixed the cassia powder with a cup of hot green tea infused water, about 1/2 cup of HEHH/Suave Tropical and about a TBSP of Vitamin E oil (the latter I added after I had let the mix sit for @ 1/2hr just right before applying).
It was pretty easy to apply and I let it sit on my hair for about 2hrs. I notice immediately after rinsing it out that my curl pattern was a lot more defined, just from the cassia treatment, no other product, I loved it; my hair also felt thicker but where I went wrong is that I don't think I rinsed it all out...I thought I did but when I was putting my hair in rods, I could feel little grain from the powder so as a result my hair is not as shiny/soft as I expected it to be from what I've been reading.

But I am not turned off, I absolutely love what it did for my curl pattern and the density of my hair, for that alone I will absolutely try it again
