DC / Steaming advice for a newbie
Hi Curls!
I’m a newbie in the natural hair world. I've been transitioning for 4 months now and I plan to be a long-term transitioner w/o BC (just mini trims every couple months). I plan to wear kinky twists as my PS for the next year and I need a good DC treatment for my "leave out" hair between twist installs.
I plan to do my normal wash/DC weekly and I also want to start steaming. Here are my questions:
1. Should steaming be done before or after the DC is rinsed out?
2. When should I steam if I am doing an ApHogee protein treatment…after I DC or before I apply the protein?
3. What will happen if I steam with deep conditioner in my hair after a protein treatment?
??
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

1. Should steaming be done before or after the DC is rinsed out? While the DC is in your hair, and do not cleanse it out with shampoo
2. When should I steam if I am doing an ApHogee protein treatment…after I DC or before I apply the protein? Again, steam while DC, you do not want to steam with a protein treatment
3. What will happen if I steam with deep conditioner in my hair after a protein treatment? Your hair will gain moisture. It is always best to moisturize after using protein to bring hair back into balance.
