Will Braids help with Transitioning??

i am new to this. i have recently cut my hair (June 1st) into a stacked bob, color has severly damaged my hair. I am not sure how else to wear my hair excpet flatironing it everrryy single morning which is breaking my hair off terribley. which is why i now have seneglese twist. My question is..will braids, twists, sew-in etc. interrupt my transition and break off more hair????

Any manipulation of the hair can cause stress on it, but braids are okay, they keep you from putting various hair utensils in your hair. I would just stay away from those micros because they tend to break off hair.
