You use a tshirt or a curly friendly material to dry your hair instead of rubbing a towel on your hair to dry it. I've only tried it a couple of times but it works wonders. It usually takes my hair about 8 hours to air dry (that's why I'm not a fan of wash n gos) but when I plop, it only takes 5 to 6 hours.
I hope that makes sense.

Dusting is when you trim a 1/4 or 1/8 inch of your ends frequently so you won't have to do a big cut.

Re: Natural Hair Dictionary--Detangling the Terms
The shingling process involves applying a leave in conditioner/gel to define curls
Prepooing involves a pre-shampoo treatment where oils or conditioners are applied which leaves hair moisturized
The Accordian technique is when you srunch your hair in the method of an accordion
a link found on youtube where she does a great demonstration

Regimen (often confused with regiment/regime) = a regulated course, as of diet, exercise, or manner of living, intended to preserve or restore health or to attain some result.

Re: Natural Hair Dictionary--Detangling the Terms
Protective styling is used to protect the ends of your hair so that it does not rub against your clothing. Twist, braids, and updos are examples used for protecting the ends of your hair. Wet and go refers to rewetting your hair to style. HTH

Hi--I didn't see this as part of the dictionary, but I have seen it as a part of some posts. What is "shingling"?
