I've heard that you can't dye when you already henna, but what if you only do henna glosses? Could you still dye on top of those?

I did it. When doing my research I found that it is not recommended because the henna can prevent the dye from setting in evenly and result in a splotchy look because of how henna coats the hair strand

I hennaed then put a chocolate brown rinse(semi permanent) and my hair turned JET Black!!! Nothing removed the black but the bleaching I did last nite( I tried color removers, the baking soda treatment, everything recommended online).
Don't be like me do the research first....it said the metallics in dye could turn ur hair black or green.
HTH!

@Tia So after doing your research did you find anything that helped you combat this side effect when dying your hair?

I made sure to coat all the strands well and I kept a close eye on my hair during the process because I knew I would have to leave the dye on a little longer than recommended - that has a lot to do with my texture.

Okay, so I'm just the opposite. First of all, I've only henna'd once this summer (and my hair has always been the blackest black naturally), but I just dyed my hair a reddish/orangy color. I want to Henna again b/c I love it so much. I'm wondering what color my hair will be afterward. Will it be super red? I actually don't mind a color change..

I'm going to say yes because that is how it happened to me:

Maybe 2-3 months. I'm not quite sure. I' sure that I have it all documented in my FOTKI-somewhere.
