Last Day of twists!!!
Tonight I prepoo and tomorrow I shampoo. I am so excited I dreamed about washing my hair, LOL.
I am going to do a recap of all of January, hopefully this weekend. I am trying so hard to get my paper done because I hate not having my weekends to do what I want.
So prepooing this time will be the first time for me. I am excited to see if there will be a difference. I did my research and I am going to prepoo tonight until tomorrow afternoon with coconut oil. Fingers crossed

Tia,
What's wrong with the Walgreen's Castor Oil? I don't have any castor oil but want to purchase the right one. Also, do you apply it to all of your hair or does it just go on your scalp?
BTW- This has nothing to do with the challenge. Can you tell me how to name my link in my signature? I want to add my BNB thread to it but can't figure out how to name it.
Thanks,

Nothing is wrong with it. I just need a bigger bottle-I share with the hubby. I didn't mean to make it sound like I didn't like it. I am planning to apply it to my scalp-kinda like we use to "grease" our scalps back in the day. I will be sure to post my first application on my blog.
I will PM you with the siggy link code (I have to disable HTML to send it).

Hey Tia-I notice that my hair responds well to some sort of protein treatment, and I think i read somewhere that your hair likes protein as well. I want to incorporate them more often but not too much..I have read that too much protein can have an adverse affect. I have used the organics root stimulator hair mayonnaise, add a lil olive oil and coconut milk and my hair loves it. However I am a lil weary of the ingredients listed below:
Water (Aqua), Polyquaternium 32, Glycerin, Safflower Oil (Carthamus Tinctorius), Hydrolyzed Collagen, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetyl Alcohol, Olive Oil (Olea Europaea), Dicetyldimonium Chloride, Lanolin, Dimethicone, Phenyl Trimethicone, Panthenol (Vitamin B5), Cholesterol, Stinging Nettle (Urtica Dioica), Capsicum Extract (Paprika), Hydrolyzed Keratin, Egg Powder (Ovum), Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, DMDM Hydantoin (and) Diazolidinyl Urea (and) Methyl Paraben (and) Propyl Paraben, Brown No. 1 (CI 20170), Fragrance (Parfum), Benzyl Benzoate, D'Limonene, Linalool, Alphaisomethylionone.
From stalking your other pages (fotki, and your blog) I noticed you like lustrasilk cholesterol (sp). Is that a good source of protein?? I noticed it contained some on the same ingredients in the hair mayonnaise I like. I guess my question is do you use any other protein treatments that are more "natural"???

I think that dajewel would be better qualified to answer the questions about the ingredients.
My hair is pretty balanced with protein. Instead of doing some heavy treatments, I eat a lot of high protein foods and drink protein shakes. I love food Too much protein on your hair can make it hard. A few blogs and posts that I have read from fellow naturals state that they alternate moisturizing treatments and protein treatments to help strike the balance.
To answer your question, the natural way I get my protein is through my diet. I don't really think the Lustrasilk would be considered a protein treatment. I never researched to see if it has elements in it similar to other protein treatments-I am now adding that to my to do list.
Have you ever tried using regular mayonnaise? I know it is not the same as the hair mayonnaise but I would give it a shot to see if your hair like the organics hair mayonnaise or to see if the organics is just acting as a carrier for the things the hair really loves-the olive oil and coconut. Trial and error time
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Thanks for the info....honestly I am just trying to figure out what my hair likes. I think the hair mayonnaise is a very light protein treatment. I did deep over the weekend and used organix coconut, I added mayonaise and olive oil...and after 8 hours my hair was dry and hard....so idk. I am just about ready to jump off a bridge !!! But thank goodness for you ladies...you all are such an inspiration.

Since your hair was dry and hard, I am wondering if you need a moisturizing productMiss CurlyT wrote:Thanks for the info....honestly I am just trying to figure out what my hair likes. Don't jump off the bridge...keep notes and use it as a lesson learned
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
The middle of my hair tends to be very dry...so I think I may try a moisturizing product next. I am off to CVS in a few...I just hope I don't buy out the entire store. What conditioners do you use as a deep conditioner?

My middle is ridiculous!! Thick and dry. I still love it, LOL
I use Lustrasilk to DC. As soon as I use it all up I am planning and trying out some new things.
