Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
I just wanted to check back in to report that hours later I am still itch free. I may get an itch and hour but it is drastically less than yesterday.
Tonight I cleanse

Do you know how you are going to cleanse?

@Lynnieluve: I am going to spray my scalp with my ACV/baking soda mix I made for the hubby and let the strong stream of water do it's work. Hopefully that will be good enough.
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Tia, I have a question about the aloe grow. You peaked my interest when you said it helps with itchies. Do you use the exact ingredients as on the video?

You know me....I had to tweak it, LOL
I used:
1.5 Cup Organic Aloe Vera Gel
1 Cup Water (distilled)
6 Drops Rosemary EO (Pregnant women should not use this EO)
10 Drops Peppermint EO
5 Drops Tea Tree EO
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Ok, at least with your recipe, I only have to buy some EO I'd plan on buying in the first place. I want to get the real Tea Tree oil. I have the bootleg version from the BSS. Now I need to find a place that sell the organic aloe vera gel. We dont have a Whole Foods here so I may have to order it online. Do you think the Vitamin Shoppe carries it? We have one of those here.

What about Walgreens? The last two times I was there they had aloe vera gel over by the castor oil. I haven't been in the Vitamin Shoppe yet...it's on my list, LOL.
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
I checked online. Walgreens doesnt have it but the Vitamin Shoppe does. What brand do you have? I see they carry Lily of the Desert.

Dang, I was wrong. There is a Vitamin World here. I've searching online and GNC carries it too.

Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
I also hear that Lily of the Desert is a good brand Lynnie. I don't have the itchies anymore but I still might have to give this a try. I'll try ALMOST anything once for my hair. I figure I won't know what works unless I try it. I haven't found all of my HG products just yet.
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Thanks Tia and ALatina!
I love the new avatars!! Did you all get together (Tia, ALatina & JamaicaCurl) and decide to change your avatars to close up shots?
**thinking I gotta get me one too**

LOL, can't say that we did. I was looking at this picture thinking my hair looks like soft black cotton and I liked it. I'm strange sometimes, I know.

AfrikanLatina wrote:Tia, how is school coming along? I haven't had time to catch up completely.
Classes just started on Monday so nothing is stressing me out yet. I am trying so hard to keep the big picture in mind. I can be done by this summer if I go hard and don't stop.

Thank you.....and I have a surprise for you......I granted your request for the pin curl tutorial
Re: ♥ tiashauntee ♥
Last night I sprayed my scalp with a ACV/baking soda mix to loosen up the buildup/dirt and got in the shower. While in the shower I cowashed my twist gently using Suave Tropical Coconut Conditioner (it was one in which I added some oil). My twists looked and felt awesome afterwards.
I have heard so much about plopping that I wanted to try it out-so I did. It was amazing. I usually deal with dripping for about an hour after I washed my hair. I plopped for maybe 5 mins, removed the shirt, and went about my business without wetting up the entire house. I just may make plopping something I do a lot more often.
I applied my Castor Oil/Avocado Oil Mix to the length of my hair. I wanted to "grease" my scalp with some coconut oil but I didn't get as clean as I would like. I am also dealing with a lot of rebellious hairs that feel like they can do what they want and not remain in twists. So I don't know if these twist are going to make it the entire month. If I have some time today I just might redo them-we'll see.
I made my first video tutorial. It's dedicated to the lovely ChrsLvsBks because if she would not have asked, I would have never done one.

Tia, what is plopping? I've seen others mention this and I am very curious.

From what I understand -and what I did- it's when you use a tshirt or another hair friendly cloth to wrap around your head to absorb the water after washing. I put my shirt on my head and tie the sleeves together
