I tried the wheat germ oil 1 time and thought [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] it was horrible. i felt little globs going down my throat. I couldnt even finish my drink. I only used 1 tablespoon.

My mix
1raw egg
2tblspn wheat germ
1 scoop of soy protein
1/2tsp MSM
1 scoop green vibrance
1cup soy milk
alittle pome juice

I will definitely try this out.
Do you also notice a lot of hair growth without the wheat germ oil? I was thinking of finding an alternative

Okay so I've been MIA for awhile. I'm still natural and BC'd on 02.10.10 so I'm fully natural. I stopped drinking my shake because I got laid off and wasn't up in the morning.

I went back to work after a week (what a break LOL) and now I don't wake up until 9am. After I started working again I began to come down with the worst insomnia. I just reread my post where I said that I was able to sleep at night. I bet it's a direct corelation between drinking my shake and my insomnia. Wow!

After I took my micros down and BC'd I noticed that my hair was so thick and luscious. I immediately got a sew-in and I was so pleased with the results again after I took it down. Starting on the 1st of May I'm going to start back on my shake (the 1st because we're moving) that way I can blend as loud as I wanna!

I haven't been very consistent with my shake. But when I was for about a month I didn't see any results. But I just might not be observant. How has everyone else's results been?

Anyone see any significant difference in not using the eggs for the vegans out there?

Unfortunatley, egg and wheat germ are the main ingredients needed in order for the shake to work (-__-) because of the protein and nutrients needed to promote healthy hair growth.

I've been attempting it with protein powder, so we'll see how that goes. Plus I'm also concerned that an egg a day would send my cholesterol levels off the chart.

the protein powder sounds interesting, but yes make an update of how it went.I'm sure other curlies out there that don't wanna use egg would definitely benefit from your routine ^___^

I tried the shake for the first time. The only variation I added was strawberries for taste and the shake tasted horrible. I'm thinking its the wheat germ oil that tastes so bad (strong/bitter taste?). Has anyone had this experience? If so, what could I use to make it taste better?

It could be the wheat germ oil because I didn't put that in mine and it taste really good but I also added a banana. I tried it with just strawberries once and I like it better with the banana because it gives it a creamier texture.

I agree with MellowOne, the wheat germ oil makes it really bitter but the banana helps a lot. I make mine with bananas, blueberries and strawberries.

@MellowOne and newday: Thanks, I was thinking that adding banana would make it taste better. I will add banana to my next shake and let you know how it turns outs. Surprisingly, today the wheat germ oil didn't taste as bad and it was the same mix??? Maybe it’s an acquired taste?...

The only change that I made to my original formula was Silk Vanilla Almond Milk. It's actually better than I thought it was going to be and I prefer it over the regular milk (minus the lactose)!

Has anyone noticed a difference? I have been drinking it for about a month and I really can't tell a difference. But since it's healthy and fills me up - not hungry until lunch- I will stick with it.

My hair is gowing alot, but I'm not sure if i'd attribute that to the shake or just genetics. It is pretty healthy though, and great for me since I skip breakfast alot.

My Recipe.

Soy Milk Powder (tastes amazing, I got it at wholefoods...it's low fat no lactose, completely vegan)
Milled Flax Seed
Wheat Germ
Protein Powder (for women)

Tastes really good. Fills me up.. so I'll stick with it.

I just started this shake today. I was worried about the taste but it does tast just like chocolate milk. I used the following:

2tbsp raw wheat Germ,
1 Raw Egg
2tbsp chocolate soy protein powder
1/4 cup Almond milk

I got a blueberry protein powder also that I am going to try!
I'll keep you all posted about my results!!

i make protein shakes all the time --- some kind of light juice (light cranberry or light white grape), lactaid milk, protein powder, flax see, light yogurt, honey, non-sugar flavored syrup (vanilla, caramel ... i have about 15 different ones), dollop of peanut butter...

I was taking this shake using the original ingredients but adding a banana like MellowOne suggested. I got some good growth from it. I don't have pictures documenting it, but it truly works. Not only did my hair grow, my nails and eyelashes grew too.

Happy Friday yall,

I am on day 4 and it's getting easier to drink but the wheat germ is powerful! My mix includes

3/4 Organic skim milk
1 egg or egg white
2 1/3 tbsp of wheat germ because I don't have the oil
2 strawberries
1/2 banana

I definitely feel like I have a sudden extra burst of energy [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] that lasts until late afternoon which is great but I feel like I may be gaining a bit of weight. This could be my body adjusting to the new breakfast mix. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] It has only been 4 days so my hair isn't to the middle of my back yet but I'll be back in a few weeks to comment on my progress.

Toodles [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

P.S. Thanks for all the different mixes and substitutions. I tried the original way minus the fruit and almost didn't make it. Hhaahahaha

Do you have to continue to drink this to keep your hair growing? What i mean is if you stop drinking it will your hair remain healthy, strong, and long?
