Skin Purging after facial

Hello Ladies!

I got a facial from Aveeda Salon and Spa last monday and I was told by my Esthetician that my skin would purge after a few days. However it's been a week and my face just started breaking out. I think I may be having a reaction to the products that i purchased that were used during my facial. I've been looking on line and I've seen a few bloggs that stated that you are not suppose to experience breakouts after a facial b/c your skin does not have a natural purging mechanism.

What happens during a facial is that your skin is stimulated by the massage and any treatments that you receive. Your facial just brings whatever is below the skin to the surface. There is no actual "purging' but your skin does shed daily and any exfoliation will help reveal new skin and any blemishes along with it. Tea tree oil and witch hazel shoiuld help rebalance your skin. As for product reactions, your facialist should have had you fill out a form asking you to list any allergies or sensetivities. Femmefox purty much answered that question. The most important thing is too drink water. Also you can not wear make up for at least 24 hours but I give it two days. But drink water because it will flush your system because a facial like a massage does loosens the toxins in your body.
