Black African Facial Soap
Hello All, I have recently been on the hunt for a gentle soap that will clear acne marks...I went through a short spell of adult acne and now I am on the hunt for a natural remedy if there is such a thing. Has anyone ever tried Black African Soap?

Yes. Black soap works great for acne. Has really cleared my acne well. I use it every other day (it's very drying) and Dove soap on the alternate days.

Really? It doesn't dry me out, maybe it depends on the skin type.
Re: Black African Facial Soap

Re: Black African Facial Soap
I use Black African Soap on my face, but like naturallydestined it dries out my face and i have oily skin, so i mainly use it in the summer and then only every other day. I have been doing Amla powder and the oil cleansing method the last month or so of weeks...its doing good. I feel i am getting better results from the Amla than with the OCM. Wish i could find something to control the hormones, cause when its time for my cycle no matter what i use my face does its own thing. I have also use the black soap the wash my hair, no cones or sulfates and its mild...i like it... I get mine from nassab.com
Re: Black African Facial Soap
Tia what brand of black soap is that?
Like you other ladies, I've found that Black Soap can be a little drying to my oily skin. I only use it every now and then particularly to remove mascara when I wear it.

I couldn't find any here locally and I didn't want to order from online at the time so I got some Ambi face wash (the cream not the foam). VERY nice on the face.

Re: Black African Facial Soap
I noticed that I began to break out again on my forehead and tried using a bar of black soap from nasaab.com that I had purchased a while ago yet it left my oily skin, dry and irritated. I recall my derm telling me during my initial consult that black soap wasn't good to use on my skin even though I've had success with it in the past. I'm going to continue to use Dove for sensitive skin daily.

@everyone: Would you please tell me what you use to moisturize your face after using the black soap?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Black African Facial Soap
I use Dudu Osun, and have been for about a month. I must say that I love the results <3 It works well with my oily skin and doesnt dry or irritate it either. I use it twice a day and follow it with shea butter to moisturize. I have heard that Dudu Osun is really concentrated so when I lather it up in my hands I rinse one hand out and proceed to wash my face with the other hand. Also make sure you wet your face before you start washing. Hope that helps

I've been moisturizing with my coconut oil since I ran out of shea butter, but the results have been just as good. I love that the coconut oil gives my skin a dewy appearance

Re: Black African Facial Soap
Okay ladies, I have the worst case of acne prone skin and I always thought that only a miracle from GOD could clear my skin. I tried all of the commercial cleansers and although it did clear up initially it always returned worse. So I was at the end of my ropes and tried a natural alternate. . .the OCM and recently the Dudu-Osun black soap and witch hazel (astringent) and a shea butter mix with a few drops of Vit E and tea tree oil (moisturizer). My skin is showing alot of improvement might I add. It is smoother, the red bumps are starting to fade, and my skin doesnt feel weighed down or greasy. I use the ocm every other day and the dudu-osun on the days inbetween. I am so in love right now!!!!!
just had to express my happiness for my "new skin". summer looks like it will be a blessing without all the makeup to hide under. Dont get me wrong though I will still where my MAC proudly, but Now I will be less self-conscious.
