Hey Ladies!!

I've been meaning to post, but my internet has been out at home all week (damn Comcast!!! ) they're coming out in the morning to fix it, but I'm at my fam's bakery using the internet right now.

So anyway, we had our third hair meet-up this past Saturday and it was phenomenal!!! It was a hair meet-up & book signing for Chris-Tia Donaldson, author of "Thank God I'm Natural". We had over 125 ladies come out, we had vendors, product swapping, discussion and give aways. Chris-Tia didn't just talk about hair, she spoke on following your dreams, entrepreneurship and having faith.......she really empowered most if not all of the women that were there. We even had to ladies drive in from Cleveland, because they saw our pics from our previous meet-ups on FB and said it looked like we have alot of fun, lol. Here are a few pics:

My sis has 2 more t-shirt designs that she brought out for the meet-up, a loc'd lady and a bald butterfly lady. They're SUPER CUTE!! I'll post pics of those later.

Hey Ladies!! Happy New Year!!

I hope everyone had a good holiday and is feeling good, refreshed and ready for the new year!!

I've been doing alot of chunky twist outs and braid outs with my hair recently and I really like it, but I'm about to get back into protective styling because I now know that it really helps me gain and retain length. I blow dried my hair last week for the first time in 8 months.......here is a picture of my blow dried hair in May 2010:


And here is a pic of my blow dried hair last week, January 2011:


I was TOO EXCITED when I saw how much my hair has grown!!!! It's not even fully stretched in the pic, I'm just about at APL.......all that protective styling this summer really paid off for me, so I'm gonna keep on doing that and hopefully I'll be close to BSL soon!!

So after I blow dried, I was trying to figure out what to do with my hair, so I did 1 braid on each side of my head and I twisted, then bantu knotted the rest of my hair:


After I took out the bantu knots:


And here's a pic of me and my sis later on that night at her birthday dinner:


Last night, I did a dry braid out on week old hair (I love dirty hair, lol......it does so much and I can easily get the look I'm aiming for) so, I braided my hair in 8 large braids, 4 on each side of my head and I used a little Cantu Leave-In Conditioner on the ends. I took the braids out this morning before church and fluffed and this is what I got:





I really liked the braid out, it came out just like I imagined it and I'll definitely be doing this style again, especially this summer. Hopefully, I'll stop being lazy and twist my hair up sometime this week. I'll post pics when I do!

Hey ladies!! Happy Friday!!

So last week I did a cinnabun, and I wanted to show you guys. This was my 2nd time doing this style, its a little messy cause I was in a bit of a rush, but I got alot of compliments on my hair that day. Here are some pics:








Now I'm back to my protective styling, I'm all twisted up. I wanted to do mini twists, but that takes so much time, I just couldn't do it, so I just did small twists, but I don't really like the way they look, LOL, so I might take them out sooner than later.

Also, my sis and some of our friends have started a new youtube channel called HeavyOnMyHeart5 (please SUBSCRIBE) where we'll be documenting our weight loss journey and different fitness goals and some other things. We only have 1 video up so far, but there are more coming soon, including an intro vid with everybody. Check out our weigh in #1 vid!!
