Oily skin and bad blemishes Empty Oily skin and bad blemishes

Post by Natural_GlamDoll 22nd April 2010, 11:10 pm

I would like to know what methods to use to rid my oily skin. In the middle of the day my makeup is extremely shiny and I am really getting irritated by this. Is there anything I can do to help or is this something I just have to deal with? I use liquid makeup with pressed powder on top so for half of the day my face is fine but after it's HORRIBLE.

My makeup used to disappear halfway through the day too but since I've been using bentonite clay masks my skin isn't oily anymore. Also I wash my face with black soap only at night and make sure to moisturize so my skin doesn't dry out and over produce oil.

I sometime use my Mary Kay mattifier. I also recently purchased a foundation primer. I notice my face is less shiny when I use them.

You can also try the OCM method. There is a thread in this section dedicated to it. I saw remarkable changes in my skin when I did it.

i agree with ChrsLvsBks too. A primer really helps also. I use Laura Mercier.

I have the same problem so I am glad to see some of the suggestions. I already have the marykay product but I didn't really see any difference. Maybe I will try the primer with this and hopefully the outcome will be better.

I have oily skin too and I found that liquid foundations just aggravate my skin and slip off before the day is done. I also seemed to have to repowder to often when I use liquid foundation which leads to blemishes. What has been working for me recently (about 2 months) is bare minerals mattifying foundation. I get mine from Ulta beauty stores. It is a one step wonder and it stays put ALL DAY! I also use blot sheets mid-morning, noon and afternoon to keep the oil from building up.

I use shea butter to remove my makup and then cleanse with coalface. That doesn't make me breakout and keeps my skin moisturized since I using drying products for acne. Using it just as a moisturizer makes my skin too shiny though. I could never seem to get the right about. But it didn't make me breakout.
