Hey ladies! I live in Huntsville alabama right now. I work on the military base here. I have been natural 4 times befor but never stayed. I have put my hair through so much damage due to heat everyday, hair dye and relaxers. I am now ready to go natural and stay!!! just started my transition. i want to transition for atleast 3 months. I'm a little late in posting a hello on this welcome board, but better late than never, right? I'm so happy to have found you all.

Where are you from: Bodega Bay/San Francisco Bay Area, CA (where Hitchcock's The Birds was filmed); but my heart splits its time between Australia (where I live), and Indonesia and the Texas panhandle (where my mom and dad are from)
What you do: for work, I research international water & development issues; for play, I love to cook and bake anything and everything (from Indonesian and Colombian chicken satays and stews, to raw vegan caramels, and now Australian native foods), knit, dance, read, travel, and find answers on the internet to every little question that pops into my mind
How long you've been natural: gleefully natural up to age 13, then texturized once a year from high school until last year when I started transitioning (as of tomorrow, 8 months ago and counting! Woot!)

Hi girls!! Call me Venom. I spend most of my time buying and taking care of reptiles and knitting. I live in FL, but ive been spending quite a bit of time in Georgia and Alabama recently. Hello Ladies. My name is Ashley and I just went natural for the first time in a long time. Today, actually! Most of my life, I have always had a perm because my hair was "unmanageable," to my mom and hairstylists, but today, I decided that I want to rid myself of the expensive, unhealthy relaxing. The only other time my hair was natural was when I was 3, and it was blown out. I really don't know what kind of curl I have or what texture. I am very excited, because I feel like a new woman, even though I did mess it up a little. I know my mom will not be happy, but that's apart of breaking free, right? I remembered this site off of the Tyra show, and thought that I would find some support and guidance in my new natural journey.

Originally, I was born in Marshall, Texas, soon moved to Los Angeles, CA in '90 and lived there for about 10 years, then moved back to Marshall. Over a year after I graduated from high school, I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina. After moving back, I worked in Shreveport, LA before moving to Dallas to finish up my degree. Now, I live in Irving...not far outside Dallas.

I am not working at the moment, but just figuring out my confused life and diving into my interests.
