Congrats winner winner chicken dinner! What are you going to get?
Thanks! It wasn't exactly how I wanted it to turn out, but then again the first time I did them I had waaaaaay more relaxed hair than non-relaxed hair. LOL.

I don't miss them either, and I'm still going through it. LOL, it's not that bad, but I think when I hit a year I'll have reached my patience quota for these permed ends, they just make everything that much more frustrating.

Thanks for the Congrats everyone! I NEVER win anything, my brother is the lucky one when it comes to that (in the last two years he's won a Playstation 3 AND a Samsung Instict HD AND a free Honeymoon ~smh~). I'm going to select the shea butter, the jury is still out on trying Henna and I know for sure that I like Shea butter, in fact I'm almost out of it. LOL. Am I supposed to contact her, or wait until she contacts me?

Okay, so the bantu-knot out didn't last (as I expected). Yesterday I got it into my head to try to learn how to french and/or dutch braid. That didn't go so well. After almost two hours and a really sore arm I was about ready to pull my hair out. That's when I decided to call it a defeat and just put my hair in plaits. So I have 8 medium braids in and eventually I'll take it out for a twistout. The hair *was* stretched when I braided it, but I sprayed some water and leave in on it (since I"d been handling it a bit too much before), soooooo it shrank back up. LOL I will say after my experience yesterday I totally don't blame my mom for pressing my hair after every wash as painful and annoying as it was for me. This stuff is THICK, I'm hoping it gets a bit better to deal with as it grows out. LOL
Anwhoo, here's my hair right now:
Ugh, I really need some sun I'm getting entirely too light. I don't think I've been this pale since I was born. LOL. Oh, and that's a cotton ball in my ear, it was giving me trouble this morning so that's my way of keeping fingers out.
As far as my weight goes, I've been hovering at the same weight (like I'll lose 2 pounds, and then they'll come back ~shrug~), but I am starting to notice clothes fitting looser, so maybe I'm getting muscle? I have been doing more strength stuff. But I haven't missed a day in 10 weeks

Keep working out. The weight will come off. When you do strength training you gain muscle plus you burn calories throughout the day. With cardio, you just burn the calories while exercising. As long as you see the difference in your clothes, you know you are on the right track.
You are doing great--exercising for 10 weeks straight. I commend you .

Yeah, I figured since I don't have a job, I may as well work on getting myself where I want to be. LOL, so I'm going to keep up with it as long as I'm able.

So, in case you haven't noticed I've updated my sig to include a countdown to my BC, I guess that kinda makes it official, which means I need to start preparing now. So when you were getting ready to do your BC (if you did one) how did you prepare for it? I think mentally I'm ready, I'm pretty sure I can live with the length it's going to be since it will hopefully be more than long enough to throw into a ponytail by the time it starts getting cold again. I'm looking forward to doing WNGs. I think I'll have a good 6 inches to work with by the chop.
Today my hair is still in the braids, I might take them out tomorrow and leave my hair out a couple of days and wash on Saturday or Sunday (I need to get out of this habit of washing during the week. I may even join the twist challenge for the rest of my transition.
I hope everyone is having a nice day!

Thanks! I'm going to pick Shea Butter since the jury's still out on Henna for me BTW, Nice Avi!
Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
There's really nothing going on with my hair today, still in the braids, I'll probably take them out tomorrow or Sat.
So I've tried the Oil Cleansing Method that's been talked about in the skin forum, and it's actually done great for my face. I think I used too much Castor Oil because it's been a little dry lately (it doesn't help when I don't put shea butter/Jojoba Oil on my face at night). But I've had a problem with my chin, it's not really acne, but it's almost like a bunch of little whiteheads, and I've noticed they are starting to go away. So I think I'll keep doing that method. Marks are also starting to fade on my face a bit.
So my new promise to myself is to be more consistent with MOISTURE both internally and externally. These last few months water has become my favorite product.
That's all I have to say for today

I hope you join the twist challenge. There is always room for more.
Yay for the OCM working for you. You may still get outbreaks but hopefully they will not last long. What is your regimen? How much castor oil? What other oil(s) are you using and how much? How often are you doing it? Please dish.

Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
I did them every other night last week, I was supposed to do one on Sunday but I didn't. Since the OCM is deep cleaning I was just using warm water to wash in the mornings. I think it was like 1 tbs of castor oil to 4 or 5 EVOO (I put it in a container and mixed it). Then I'd follow the instructions on the website, and I would usually end up massaging my face for 5-10 minutes before doing the steaming. After that use a cold rag to re-close pores and moisturize. I'm good as long as I make sure to moisturize I think.
My favorite part is massaging my face, maybe just doing that was getting the blood to flow which also may have been helping.

Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
I took the braids out. I think next time I'll do them all to the back and maybe a little bigger. This time I had 8 braids, 4 on each side. I'm probably going to play around with the shape some more today or try to do some loose flat twists in the front or something so I don't have to wear my thin head band. I'm trying to avoid putting it in a puff. I'll probably wash it tomorrow or Saturday and throw in some twists for the last 4 weeks before my BC.
Here are some pics:
and one without the flash:
Not exactly what I wanted, but Imma keep working on it. I'm trying to get on BBD's level with the braidouts. LOL I think when I take them out I have to manipulate them too much to get them to lay where I want them to lay and by the time I get them where I want them, I've inadvertently finger combed them too much. Plus, I may be doing too much when I try to erase the parts.

Yep, that also means I'm 11 months relaxer free today

Thanks! Yeah it's coming soon, but I was looking at my huge braidout yesterday and I got kinda sad because I'm going to miss my hair when it's gone, and I'm going to miss my hilights. But the sooner I let the permed ends go the faster it will grow (I hope)
I think I'm going to wash and twist today, so I'll be back later with my hair updates.

So today is my 11 month relaxer free anniversary! And I'm officially all twisted up for the challenge. I want to try to keep these in for two weeks since I did them so small and I'm not going to feel like taking them out. LOL. Here are some pics:
Oh, it took me about 2 1/2 hours to do. Today was also wash day:
~ Co wash with V05
~ DC with Castor Oil and ORS replenishing conditioner
~ Aussie Hair Insurance and Jojoba to seal
~ ORS Twist and Lock Gel to twist
I did end up lightly blow drying each section on low because I didn't feel like sitting under the cool dryer any longer and I wanted to start/finish the twists tonight.
So that's it

I have no idea. I'm going to miss my hi-lights, but I will wanna rock an afro now and then, and I don't think it would look right with streaks. I'd feel like a leopard. But I'm going to look into those temporary color sprays, have you ever used them before?
