I was the same way when I wore a press-n-curl, I thought my hair had to be straight and slick. Now that I wear my hair curly I love it big and out there.

Now, I'm not trying to be Diana Ross or anything. . . LOL, I'm still kinda conservative (hair not politics ~lol~), but when it comes to wearing it in curls or a puff, I want it bigger

Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
Good Morning! I've been up since 6:30 for some reason, which makes no sense since it's SATURDAY. I bet I'll want a nap later. LOL
Anywhoo, I've been running for 30 minutes on Wii Fit the last couple of days, it's a good workout, and a month ago I never would have even attempted it. I think the 30 minute run will take the place of the 30 minute free step for when i just want to do something while I watch TV. I haven't missed a day in 7 weeks today! YAY me! I am DETERMINED to get back down to a size where I'm happy with my body.
My hair is still in a puff. I took it out of the puff last night and did the semi-flat twist thing again, I just have to be careful that I don't comb through the curls to do it but I think it still looks good. This morning I sprayed the edges with water again and then just used some ORS Olive Oil Moisturizing Cream (I don't know if that's the actual name of it, but I'm too lazy to get the bottle right now to look. LOL, I'm sure ya'll know what I'm talking about) to put it into the puff instead of gel, then I tied it all down with a scarf while I did my workout. I really wish I'd started doing puffs earlier in my transition, I didn't think I'd like it as a style, but I love it. I do know that it's going to be hell to detangle when it's time to wash it though thanks to those damned permed ends.
In 2010 I'm determined to get to a point where I like everything about myself physically, so far I'm making a good start (I'm trying to have my "sexy back" by Homecoming (LOL) which will probably be in October).

You've been working out everyday for 7 days?!?! You will definitely reach that goal by Oct if you keep that up.

Every day for 7 weeks. I think I'm getting more toned, but I haven't seen the pounds dropping like I want, I think because of what/when I'm eating, so I really need to get a food regimen going. But I'm going to keep making myself do it. Today I did it while watching my probate tape, I probably could have done an hour if the thing didn't stop be because I was so into my tape. Ah, memories. . . But I REALLY hope I stick with it and reach my goal. I've never done it every day for 7 weeks straight before and it actually gave me some different advice today! LOL

I can't read, LOL. 7 weeks is very very impressive. As you can tell - a week is good to me because I have a hard time doing two days in a row. The more I work out - the more I eat. So don't stop eating, just indulge in healthy snacks and low calorie snacks. I really believe that you are going to reach your goal if you stick with this regimen.

Yeah, I know what you're saying, and I know what I'm "supposed" to do. LOL, I just need more discipline. . . Trust me, doing it every day isn't exactly easy for me, but it's almost becoming part of my day, which is good. I'm glad it's finally warming up because I can start going walking in the mornings. The thing is, if I don't do it within a couple of hours of waking up, I'll be less motivated to do it later.

Keep up the good work. I started out slow when I first started working out. Next month, I've been working out a year! I still cant believe it but I am proud of myself.
I have to work out in the morning too.

I have to work out in the morning too.
I woke up cold (freezing) and sore. I have NO idea why. So I ended up only doing like 13 minutes of Wii Fit before I decided to give up the ghost because I had NO energy. I'll probably do a 30 minute run tonight while I watch Desperate Housewives or something. I'm just feeling really lackadaisical today.
I found a website that makes up Wii Fit Routines for you for free: http://www.wiifitroutine.com
And apparently Wii Fit Plus has this Rhythm Kung Fu exercise. I followed along with the YT video but it's not the same as doing it but now I sooooo want that game. LOL

So I'm not doing anything to my hair today. I didn't even take it down last night to do my fake flat twist thing to sleep, I just wrapped the edges and threw on a Satin bonnet. The girls are staying in there. I think I like braid-outs more than twist-outs, at least on transitioning hair.
Also, my Soror convinced me to try the Tresemme Naturals conditioner for co-washing, so I got the Nourishing Moisture one. I'll probably wash my hair on Wednesday.
Something funny I'm noticing among my friends, so many of them are going natural! I found out my Spec decided to cut her hair off and start Locs, my Sandz was going to do locs, but the girl who was going to start them said her hair was too thin or something like that so she's just going natural so I posted a couple of sites (including this one) on her FB page. I know a few of my other Chapter Sorors who are natural, and soooo many of my FB friends are either Natural or transitioning. I think it's great that so many people around me are doing the same thing, or did the same thing, I'm doing it gives me a great offline support system. It's also great because they are willing to send me the stuff they try and don't like for free. LOL, my LS is sending me some KCCC and Knot Today because she didn't like it. I don't see the point in trying that stuff on my transitioning hair, so I'm going to try it after I BC.
Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
I have the wiifit plus and i LOVE it. I wish I had the dedication you did to do it everyday. The rhythm kung fu is really fun too. I'll have to check out that website you found. May be really helpful! Keep up the awesome work.

*singing* "Puffy, puffy, puffy, can't you see, sometimes your curls just hypnotize me. . ." LOL, so I still have the puff in, and it's going strong. Here are some pics from today:
I think it looks more like I just have natural hair today. Oh yeah, and I haven't been using gel on it the last few days, I just use the ORS Olive Oil Cream before I tie it down, the gel doesn't make my hair lay down anyway, so I don't see the point in layering it on
Oh, and today I did my 30 minute run watching The Wiz. I just paused it I'll do it to that tomorrow too since it happened to stop at my favorite part (right before "You Can't Win")

Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
I had a really good workout today. I think working out is also helping with my hair growth. I don't know why, but I just feel like it's been growing a little faster since I've been working out. Anywhoo, I did a 30 minute run (while watching The Wiz again), 6 minute Hula Hoop (over 900 spins on each side, it's a great way to work up a sweat), 45 rowing squats, 20 single-leg extensions, 20 sideways leg lifts, and the table tilt (got to level 8 on Advanced) and Advanced soccer heading. That all adds up to 52 minutes. I'm going to try to transition from doing 30 minutes a day to doing an hour a day. I really like to sweat, and sometimes doing 30 minutes doesn't do it for me. It's supposed to get to around 60 degrees today, so I may go outside for a walk or to do something to the yard.
As far as my hair goes, I think I may want to wash it today, I might if I get bored. If I don't wash it today, I'll DC overnight and wash it tomorrow. The style I'm going to try when I do wash it is another braidout, only this time I'm going to do the braids waaaay bigger (I'm only going to do 4-5).

Good Morning Muz~
I had to catch up on your posting. You are doing a good job with your hair. I like the last style (The Puff) and I agree you hair looked more natural in that style.
Good luck with your workout regiment. I'm going back to the gym April 2nd @ 5:30am. So I will not be able to tell everyone good morning until I get to work. My goal is 20 pounds...WHEW!!!
Have a blessed day!!

Good morning! And thank you for the compliments I'm trying to find different styles to do so I don't get bored (because that's when you do something reckless ~lol~)
My goal right now is about 10 pounds per month, I have to get a regimen together that allows me to do that. I have a goal, I know my ideal weight (even though I don't want to get that small because I think I'd look sick, and I like being thick ~lol~), so I just gotta keep it up even when I feel like I'm not making progress. Like the poem says "don't give up though the pace seems slow, you may succeed with another blow"

So yesterday I cut a small piece in the front, and I'm not satisfied with the length. I know the front/edges grow the slowest for me, but they're only about 4 inches. Hopefully I can get two more inches by May 23, if not that BC may not be happening in two months. Then again, I can always just do WNGs all summer and get it put in kinky twists or something for the Winter. I don't know. I watched a few BCs on YouTube last night where the person said they transitioned for a year, sometimes the results were comforting, other times not so much. I KNOW my hair is just going to shrink up, which means anytime I want to style it I'm going to have to stretch it first (which can be a hassle).
But I do know that my hair will at least be as thick as I expect it to from that little piece I cut, I suppose that's some comfort. I probably will be ready to cut it after a year, I almost cut off all of the relaxed ends in the back last night. (I also learned that I cannot trim the back of my head I don't like the idea of cutting what I can't see).
I also ended up washing my hair last night, I went back to the way I used to wash it, and I loved the results. I detangled and pre-washed with Tresemme Natural's Nourishing Moisture Conditioner (I think that's what it's called, I'm too lazy to get up and look at the bottle right now. LOL) then I co-washed with the same conditioner. After that I did my DC with Castor Oil (which I'm running out of but it's lasted me about 5 months, so I guess I can't complain too much) and ORS Replenishing Conditioner. I think my hair was happy I wasn't experimenting this week. LOL, it was just so SOFT. I wish I could take a picture of the softness in a way so you all could feel it. But yeah, my hair is happy again, it's been feeling kinda dry and nasty to me lately. I think that's going to be my regimen. I don't really see a need to experiment just for the hell of it. I don't think it really matters what I co-wash with, but my DC is definitely going to be the Castor Oil/ORS combo. I haven't slept in that combo before, but I usually just leave it on for 1-2 hours and I'm good. I put it in 4 big braids, so I kinda look like a little kid right now and let it dry overnight as I slept. I'm just going to leave the braids in as a protective style since I'm not going anywhere and I'll probably take them out on Saturday or something so I can rock a braid-out for a couple of days before washing again.
I love braid-outs and twist-outs, and bantu-knot outs, but they are HELL to de-tangle before washing my hair and sometimes I just don't have the patience. LOL.
Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
SheeTacular_Napps wrote:Hey lady!! I know sometimes detangling can be a tedious job but so worth it.
Hey! Yeah, I just have to remember that I can't just pull the knots apart even if I am going to eventually cut all of that off. LOL
So I decided to do a fake updo, I kinda like it, maybe I'll try to perfect it a bit and it could be another transition style (and maybe something I can do when I'm fully natural. Also, I need to start figuring out how to get more hair accessories. LOL
I don't think I'll actually leave the house with my hair like this, maybe I would if the parts were straight, I just didn't feel like looking at my hair in those 4 sad little ponytails all day. LOL
All I did was pull my hair up in the middle and use a little ponytail holder to hold the four pieces together, then I clipped on that flower hair clip thingy. The braids are free standing (I can't cornrow/frenchbraid).
BTW, I hate April Fool's Day. LOL

I need someone to send me Wii Fit Plus too, I may ask my brother to do it since he works at Best Buy and may be able to get it for a discount. . .
Re: ❁❁ Muz ❁❁
So I took down my braids, and STILL didn't get the look I wanted:
*shuddder* I can't leave the house like this!
(sorry these pics aren't as big, I changed the setting on my camera and they made the pics waaaaaaaay smaller, I'll be setting it back later.)
Since I hated the braid-out and I'm about to leave the house, it went back into. . . you guessed it a puff!! I finger combed through it to make it bigger.LOL (where have these things BEEN all my life?) I love the puff. I may flat twist it tonight or tomorrow night to rock a twistout for Easter since this style doesn't seem to have much hold to it.
