I typically use it to moisturize my ends. It works great for that. I am depending on protective styling and proper haircare for length retention.

Yesterday was African heritage day at church. A week ago I purchased a African Wax Fabric Headband from Rachel Stewart and that is what I wore to church along with a kente cloth belt that I made.

I wanted big hair to wear with the headband so I did a braidout with the cornrows that I wore all week. When my hair was braided I cowashed a few times and my hair felt GREAT once I took the cornrows out.



Last night was the end of the month so I shampooed, deep conditioned, and put my hair in a bun for the week. My Bday is on Friday so I want to do something fun with my hair....a bun for this week will let it rest before whatever I decide to do to it on Friday.

I am also conducting a little experiment with my itchy scalp....I don't know how I didn't realize this years before.....I will keep you all posted once my experimentation is complete. I try not to make assumptions before testing my theories.

No plans yet. Every year I go through this....the best years were when I was in college because I was surrounded by friends.

I'm trying a version of the Aloe gro...I couldn't get all the essential oils. I'll have to let you know how it works out.

I got mine from Whole Foods. I can't remember the brand name.

I don't think so. I am not even using the same recipe or for the same reason. I like to take good ideas and tweak them to suit my hair needs.

Someone just sent me a message about my color and I accidentally deleted it. It's so cold in my office that I can feel my hands. I hope this reaches the person that sent that message:

My hair color is the result of commercial dye and then henna on top of that. The henna ONLY dyed the portion of my hair that was colored with the commercial dye. My roots are black (boo).

Tia...I really like your avatar. Very nice picture. You know I bought aloe vera gel from whole foods and it was way thick. I just figured that she meant juice not gel...

Nope, that is the one I have. I thought the same thing when I opened it. But it works great. I love it. I don't even want to try the juice now, LOL.
I may try the juice this summer when I just need a light spray.
