My First Twists
I didn't realize that my hair was long enough to do the two strand twists. I was pleasantly surprised. I don't have a lot to do tomorrow, so I plan on keeping them in. I will wear a twist out on Sunday, if I don't look ridiculous and have to wash my hair.
So, what to I do while the twists are in?

Does this look alright if I were to decide to leave them in for several days? I spend most of the week in the house anyway, but if I were to run out I don't want to look like a fool.
How would I take care of twists for three of four days at a time. What do you moisturize with?

I think you've done a very good job. They look neat and almost like comb coils from the photo you've posted. I don't wear twist out of the house because mine just never look consistent enough for my taste. But those look good. What about shea butter for moisture?

No, I will wear a twist out, not the twists out. I will take them out in the morning before church.
so, just keep adding shea butter?
Thanks

Ok, here is my twist out. I don't really have an opinion. Not sure if I like it or not. I did get a lot of compliments, so that is a plus. I'm thinking that I may have to let it grow out a little longer. Grow hair, grow!

When it comes to wearing your two strand twist out of the house, it really depends on how you feel about them. Check out my fotki and look at my first set of two strand twist (Big chop album). I wore them out without a second thought. I got lots of compliments too. Looking back at them now, I'm like, "What in the world was I thinking?" LOL!!
I always wear my two strand twist out in public. Sometimes I am a little self conscious about how they look but I rock em anyway. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Personally, I don't like to see scalp, so I would wait until my hair grew a little longer and filled in before wearing twists out, or a twist-out.

Re: My First Twists
Funny because I wear a twist out most of the time and NEVER wear my twists out in public. Why? Just because I don't like them on me. I see other people do it but I can't bring myself to do it too. I actually didn't think yours looked bad.
Re: My First Twists
Cool, thanks! I will probably let it grow a little more before I wear them out, but don't mind running a quick errand where nobody knows me...LOL
Re: My First Twists
I never wear mine out either. I don't like the look on me and my hair is still thin in the top so my scalp shows. Also I can't get mine to lay down right so by morning I look like buck wheat [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] . If I'm not going any where then I'll leave them in or wear a hat if I have to leave. I'm still not to to good at getting them tight enough either. Can someone give us bad twisters some help?

Re: My First Twists
I think the twistout looks good--it adds definition to the hair and I like to wear twistouts too. Funny thing, after I wrote that I ended up wearing my twists out in public, but pulled up into a med-high pony. Still can't bring myself to wear them down and out at this length. I think there is something to the idea of seeing scalp. And in my case, they just bop around on my head at this length. I've been moisturizing daily with a bit of shea butter and I'll take them out today (after 4 days) and wear a twistout for the rest of the week.

Your first set looks really good.
Re: My First Twists
Well, I wore my hair twisted to work today for the first time. Everyone liked it. I was unsure about it because I don't really like them on me so I never wore them out of the house. Now I just need to find a style that looks right on a 50 year young woman.
