Does all Henna color?

Is there anyway to use henna without changing my hair color? I really want to henna for the benefits but I dont really want to dye my whole head red or even reddish brown. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Yep, all henna does release a reddish dye. Now depending on the color of your hair, you may not see a color change. I have dark brown hair with gray hair at my temples. My gray hair is red. My dark brown hair looks dark brown and if the light catches it in a certain way, it has a reddish hue.

If you're worried about the color, you can always try cassia or amla instead. Or you can mix henna with indigo to give you a dark brown look.

But looking at your avatar, henna will not dye your hair red because your current hair is too dark, but you may get that reddish hue in the right light.
