First Real Braid-Out
OK LADIES!! I started a thread a couple of days ago about styling and products. Well ladies, last night I sat there like a good girl and braided my hair into plats. I used Oyin Handmades Shine and Define and Juices and Berries. Sooo I have gotten a lot of compliments from people on my hair today so I wanted to share with you all. My lovely Natural Diva Sistas...
This is me today at work:
Ignore the fake smile....

I love it! Looks more like a puff from the photos, but still cute.

I agree with the other ladies as well. It is very cute and looks like a chunky puff.
Re: First Real Braid-Out
Ok well this is my first sucessfull Chunky Puff lol!! Thanks ladies... Of course you know all of your hair rock.. I am just excited about the length now. Sooo How do I do an effective braid out without all of the frizz. Should I have used a setting lotion or gel?? Which product would work best..

Re: First Real Braid-Out
Hey ktoliver, for a more defined braidout I would try a gel like ecostyler or nikkis setting lotion potion. I tried it recently and its great. Someone, I think tiashauntee posted a question about it in the forum or u can just search the site for setting lotion.
Re: First Real Braid-Out
Thanks Poeticlyspkng!! I will do that now... I try to do it but my hair is super frizzy.. It always have been actually I don't know why. Even with a perm if my hair got wet it would poof out... man o man this hair of mine... I will try those now. I also wanted my hair to be cute for when I go home on vaca next month so that is why I am trying out these styles now.

Re: First Real Braid-Out
I've never done a braid out but I know with my twist out, when I am untwisting, I try not to disrupt the definition too much.

Re: First Real Braid-Out
Me too Lynnie. And I seal the ends. Are you doing that Ktoliver? Sealing your ends with olive oil or shea butter? I think that would help with the frizzies too.
Re: First Real Braid-Out
Um..... No I am not.. LMAO!! I was just excited that my hair was long enough to plat it.. I did not seal the ends at all. I will for sure do that next time. I think I need a stronger hold product also. I love my shine and define but It is not a good hold for me.
