Heat Damage :( Empty Heat Damage :(

Post by nikkinixnicole 22nd January 2010, 1:12 am

Any advice for heat damaged hair? After growing my hair out and obtaining wonderful length, I decided (foolishly) to get my hair straightened at the salon (i know..). I did this four times within 3 months (i know..) and my hair has never been the same [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ... limp, lifeless, straight ends, breakage [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ... I've already began to grow it out (since my hair is not reverting back)... Any further advice/thoughts/comments?

I say just keep on conditioning and doing deep treatments on a regular basis. It will likely get back to the way it used to be! Good luck!

I had a major issue with heat damage, unfortunately, the only advice I can give is "grow and clip"

Thanks you two! I've actually been doing both. LESSON LEARNED! Atleast this experienced has made me love and appreciate my hair more than I once did.

yeah i know what you mean about heat damage...i actually decided i wanted to have straight hair (a bit of straight hair envy at all those ladies who have long straight silky hair-kinda)
anyway i went ahead and blow dried, pressed and flat ironed (i think? the stylist was just going crazy on my hair) and she hot curled it...
i guess i should have opened my mouth and said something to her...

i now have some hair that wont for the life of me, go curly again no matter what i do.....
