Re: Challenge # 3: Jumping Jacks
Aw Lynnie! You must have been hitting those jumping jacks hard girl! I hope you feel better soon! But yay for the elliptical!!!
Chrs - I must be following you around the forums tonight . I think doing them during commercial breaks would be good. Every now and then when the motivation hits me and/or I feel bad for being so lazy, I do crunches or jumping jacks or jump rope during commercials.
As for nutrition (this advice is for myself also) maybe start by decreasing one "bad" food/habit and increasing a good one. For example, a few weeks ago I cut out eating white rice with my dinner and increased my veggies. So I'd eat veggies and meat. Also, to make myself drink more water (instead of juice all the time), I allow myself only 1 cup of juice per day. All other drinks must be water. After doing this for just a few days, I didn't crave juice or when I did drink juice it didn't taste as good to me.
I say this advice is for me also because I've fallen off of both wagons lately and I'm slowly getting back on! For some reason I've been so lazy!!!!

Re: Challenge # 3: Jumping Jacks
I did 50 JJ's ...about to do 50 more before bed. I'm really surprised that I can do 50 straight through because whenever I'm doing a work out and they wanna start doing JJ's I can't do many. That's probably because I was already worn out from other exercise.
Re: Challenge # 3: Jumping Jacks
got my 100 in for the day. i almost forgot. if i don't do them in the morning before work they won't get done! sad. but true.

Re: Challenge # 3: Jumping Jacks
@Jamaicacurl, I am hoping I will do some type of exercise during commercials. I think I will do arm curls, lunges, ab work and/or jumping jacks.
I want to lower my carbohydrates. I received a book from a coworker featuring meals 200 calories or lower. Many of the recipes are high in protein and low in carbohydrates.
@LuvMeLuvMyFro, I am going to do jumping jacks tomorrow morning since I did not do them tonight.
I have been tired the last couple of days.

Re: Challenge # 3: Jumping Jacks
I think it would great to focus on eating. My biggest issue is eating correctly. So I was thinking about incorporating more veggies into my diet. We could aim for more veggies, less caffeine, fewer calories, etc.
Re: Challenge # 3: Jumping Jacks
I would say cutting out white bread, pasts, and white rice but I would never make it.
Re: Challenge # 3: Jumping Jacks
i did my 100 jumping jacks this morning! i was thinking we could do food journaling for the next challenge. i SUCK at it, but everyone always says how you're more conscious of what you eat when you have to write it down somewhere. what do you guys think?

I wouldnt be able to do this one. I am apart of a corporate fast at my church and we are not eating meat for the rest of the month. These have been my "go-to" foods along with veggies. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Maybe you guys could join me. How about cutting back to meat at one meal a day for a week?

yay neethair!!! it's never too late! even though the challenge officially ends today, i'm going to keep doing them! chrs said she would keep going too. i think they're a great addition to my workout (and a quick way to get some physical activity in when i don't have time to get in any more than that).

I have also upped my veggie intake over the last couple of weeks. I am struggling though with variety.

I originally cut out rice but now I'm back to eating it but just not as much as before. Pasta is my weakness...well one of them...so that's been a tough one!

I think this is a good idea....I did this for a while some months ago when I joined the 50 million pound challenge.

Re: Challenge # 3: Jumping Jacks
I just can't wait for the Spring and summer when I can get back to playing tennis and jogging! I would also love to find a Zumba class near me but I haven't had any luck.
Maybe the next challenge can be abdominal exercises?

Re: Challenge # 3: Jumping Jacks
I just complete 100 jumping jack (in sets of 20 between each set I did 20 legs lifts-10 on each side). Boy am I out of shape [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .
I think doing the meatless meat that Lynn suggested would be nice. The abs would be a good next challenge as well.

Re: Challenge # 3: Jumping Jacks
Hi, everyone! I was not going to do my jumping jacks today. I did them after reading the post. This is motivating. I did one set of 40 then 17 with a quick adjustment and finished the remaining 43 without stopping. I was barely out if breath after completing them all.
As far as next week, I am game for anything. Feel free to create a new thread with the new challenge. No consensus is necessary although it is a plus.
We're doing GREAT!

How does everyone feel about doing squats or lunges for the next challenge? Start with 30 and work up to 50.
