How do you know if it is breakage!?

I have noticed that I am losing a good amount of hair when I groom it at night and in the morning. How would I know if it is normal everyday hair loss or breakage? Also, if it is breakage, does anyone know any products to help prevent it?

I think you can tell based on the length of the strands that fall out. If there is a white bulb on the end, it's normal shedding. Any jagged short pieces are typically breakage!
