Just wanted to post some pics of my sculpted fro. Basically I just cowash, tshirt dry, added some leave-in, added some shea butter, pik'd my hair out a bit (I hadn't combed it since Jan), then used my fingers to part my hair on one side and patted into shape.

I tried the side part one day, but didn't feel confident enough to wear it out--plus hubby laughed at me when I told him that I wanted to try it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] After seeing your pics I just might try it! Thanks for the inspiration FemmeFox!!
Re: TWA odd phase style photos
I so LOVE this thread ladies! I've been natural since October and did my last big chop in December so I'm either 5 months natural or 3 months natural depending on which big chop date you wanna go by lol. But my hair has gotten to the point where its not quite long enough for me to do too much to it but its not short enough for me to control it in a compact twa. Usually I just wear it in a wash and go puff but this week I ventured into braid & twist territory. i don't do it that often because it takes HOURS for me to twist my hair but I do it when i get bored. So this style here is braided in the front with twists in the back. The pics without a headband on were taken the first day after I did the style the previous night, the pic with the headband on was taken today -- 3 day old style. I'll probably take the twists out this weekend and see how the back looks twisted out then I'll take it all down Sunday for my deep condition day. And the pic with the purple shirt on is how I normally wear my hair.
Oh and I've also tried the side part and it just didn't look cute on me at all but you are rockin it girl!!!

Mojo I love the that style. Super Cute!!! I wish I knew how to braid.
You have been natural almost 5 months. You become natural after you get rid of all of the relaxed ends.

Rock it Mojo!!!!!! I never thought of doing a style like that. But please believe I will be stealing it in the future..LOL. As for me this week, still rocking 2strand twists.
Re: TWA odd phase style photos
Thanks Ladies! I took it down on Sunday for deep conditioning day and today I'm just rocking the puff. Let's hope I can recreat the braid and twist style again when I go to wear that style again lol.
Lynnieluve -- I LOVE your hair in your new profile picture! I can't wait for my hair to get to that length and that full.
Happy Monday Ladies!

OMG Lynnie, I had to enlarge to see that the twist were gone. That definition is the best I have ever seen. Like, I really thought they were twist. I am still taking notes from your thread to master the skills like you.
Re: TWA odd phase style photos
Thanks NHJackie! I'm gonna see if I can recreate that.

Re: TWA odd phase style photos
I have a real bad case of HIH and I am trying not to do too much to my TWA. But I must ask, should I be applying product to my hair daily or should I apply it 3 or 4 times a week and let my hair rest in between?

Listen to your hair. It will tell you if it needs moisture, protein, or a good washing. When I first did my BC I had to cowash daily to keep it moisturized. Then, gradually, I was able to go more days in between. Make sure you have a good regimen and stick to it. That always helps.
Re: TWA odd phase style photos
I did a two strand flat twist across the front. It looks like a headband.

That is so pretty Lynnie. How do you get your hair so curly? Is that a bantu knotout? I have appointed your hair as my big sister. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I just love it.

Thank you!
Every weekend I do this:

and this:

and in the mornings I do this (although most nights I just put on a bonnet and fluff in the morning):

My fro gets bigger as the week goes on. I just use coconut oil Carol's Daughter Hair Milk and Carol's Daughter Tui leave in conditioner to refresh.
