Puffy feeling?

OKay. So usually a day after cowashing when i take out my 2strand twist bantu knots, or a day after that, some parts of my hair feel puffy. The feeling is when u use to have a perm and u hair gets wet and it air dries, or it could be the new growth u feel when its time for a touch up. It really happens if I choose to do my protective style on hair that has dried already, and i redamp it. I don't really like the feeling. I have tons of spots that are silky smooth, and some just feel puffy.
