SCALP PAIN! Empty SCALP PAIN!

Post by mrscoutrmmm 17th January 2011, 6:21 pm

To all my natural big sisters,

I have notice since growing my hair out that my scalp with have some pain in certain spots. I guess the best way to describe it is as if someone had a comb stuck in your hair and just keeps pulling to try and get it out (Yes painful affraid ). Ever since BC my permed ends, its gotten better, but it can still feel sore at time. My question is, is this normal?! Has anyone else gotten some sort of pain while transitioning to their current natural state?

Also I am up for adoption if anyone is interested! I have been creamy crack free for 3 months.

Hello mrscoutrmm!! I actually did experience this while I was transitioning from relaxed to natural. It would get so painful at times that I would have a series of headaches for 2-3 weeks at a time. My personal theory is that its kind of like weaning your hair off of the chemicals that it is so used to! I am not quite sure why the pain- but I experienced it so I know EXACTLY what you're talking about! I never cut off the permed ends tho- I just let it all grow out but I made it!!!

thats how my scalp use to feel when it was time for a perm...My beautician said that new growth at the roots causes it to feel tight...so im guessing for your scalp to feel like that your experiencing new growth and like KThaler10 said its your hair weaning its self off of chemicals
