Happy Nappy Christmas!! Empty Happy Nappy Christmas!!

Post by tiashaunteé 4th December 2009, 2:20 pm

I have quite a few ladies close to me that have begun the natural journey. I want to provide them with a gift that will be a form of encouragement for them and their coils.

Can you all think of something affordable and helpful that would be a nice gift?
or
What would you like for someone to gift you as a hair related gift?

I would do a nice conditioner and a microfiber towel. I use a microfiber turban that I purchase from the .99 store.

A satin pillowcase(they have them at the BSS store for 3.99), a shower comb, a good(but affordable) conditioner, and depending on the person a nice hair accessory.

No need to mail mine Tia...I will be picking it up... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

A cute basket with a couple of accessories, a conditioner, maybe some henna(if you can find it at your local indian grocer) OR something that you've whipped up and could decorate the container/label personalized to them Smile

Most of these ideas are what I was thinking. I thought too a shower comb, satin pillow case, a conditioner. Kinda like a basic kit to get em started.

I agree with everyone else. The basics and maybe a natural hair t-shirt.

All of the above in a nice lil basket with a note welcoming them to the family. With a list of suggestions for conditioners, oils, websites, myths etc. Love this idea!!

I love the idea of the little gift basket and I especially like the idea of the natural t shirt.

This is an awesome idea! I was trying to think of something affordable but yet personalized to give my daughters. Oh and don't forget to add a spray bottle.

Wow these are all great combo ideas. Take 3 or 4 from each idea and make a great natural hair gift basket.

I like the basket idea with all the stuff mentioned, especially the t-shirt. I say get all the essentials based on their hair length and type.
If they are early in their journey to natural hair, I would focus on the basis stuff to get them started satin pillow case, nice scarf, shower comb, ect.

Start their PJism with trail sized conditioners and shampoo... also some natural stuff, small containers of shea butter and oils.

I've thought of these ideas this year for my folks. I caught the Qhemet Biologists sales on Black Friday and I got all sample sizes and some will be gifts for my mother since she's trying to go natural.

...but I would love all of those ideas.

This idea came to me this morning...you could also use the free cosmetic bags that you get with make up purchases at dept. stores. I have two Clinque bags with red lips printed all over them. I am going to include them as part of the basket. It will be good for keeping things handy in their purses for freshing up their hair.
