Hooded Dryers Empty Hooded Dryers

I've been using a hooded dryer to set my transition styles (perm rods or bantu knot outs). Is it possible for hooded dryers to cause heat damage? I don't think I've experienced any, but before I got too comfortable thinking it was safe, I figured I'd ask. Thanks!

I think any high heat being used on a regular basis can cause heat damage, regardless of the source...
