Hard Hat Dryers vs Handheld Dryers Empty Hard Hat Dryers vs Handheld Dryers

Post by C. 20th July 2010, 1:33 pm

Lately I've been having the itch to try wet sets like roller set n silk wrap, straw sets, rod set, flexi rod sets etc. I dont own, nor have I ever owned, a dryer-handheld or sit under. I would really like to purchase one because although I dont mind air-drying it can take forever especially when my hair is really wet and i have somewhere to go the next morning. Right now it is the summer time and I can air dry to my heart's content, but school begins Aug 23 and I want to be able to style my hair faster (as well as deep condition faster).

I think a sit under dryer would be more beneficial because I can use it to deep condition, style and to help speed up the air drying process. The main reason I want a sit under is because I want to try a silk wrap but I think i need a dryer in order to make it "silky."

If any of you own/have owned sit under dryers that you loved please let me know the brand, store purchased from and price and your opinion. The max I can pay right now is $30

I don't think the brand matters. You can buy a good situnder sryer from walmart for 20 to 40 bucks.

Dont drop it though, because it WILL break..lol

I need a new one, now that you mention it. I go back to school aug 29.

I bought my Conair dome, sit-under dryer for around $25 at Walmart. It works great!

Thanx CurlyChefRobin, I will definitely be getting one. I saw that one online, but didnt think it would work so well since it was only $25, but thanks for the reassurance. **off to dream about all the wonderful styles i will soon be doing**

I've had mine around 4 months now with no problems. I hope it lasts. :-)

I probably have the same one that CurlyChefRobin has lol. I actually bought it originally to help set my boyfriends comb coils after I did them and now I've claimed it. I'm sitting under it as we speak lol

janet, does it heat up evenly and how is the temp? I never bought a hard hat dryer becuase at the salon my neck and ears would ALWAYS be burnt(well- not really burnt), red, itchy and irritated, and my hair would feel overly dry..

Yeah I think teh Conair is actually the one I had.

It was good and everything but after a while it dropped once, then the hood wouldnt sit up right soit would just lean into my back, so that was trash. it heate dup pretty good. I think towards the end of its life it was uneven. had it for maybe a year and a half to 2 yrs
