Just found my super cute cocktail dress for my aunts retirement party. Now all I have to do is figure out what I'm going to do with my hair.

I really want to learn how to sew (period). lol I have always said that. There is this store down the street from my apartment that sells used sewing machines and parts - like that's the ONLY thing they sell lol I don't know how they are in business it's hardly ever open when I walk by. I can't even put a button back on a jacket smh... where would I start????

this is my first thanksgiving ever away from my family :-( and I'm really sad about it. Thanksgiving is the bigger holiday in my family because all 13 of my moms brothers and sisters and all of my cousins and distant cousins come to my moms house to eat - every year. And this is the first year I won't be there boooooo! And we always play some time of game after its over. One year we played "The Newlywed Game" with all the married couples - IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! Like we had the big signs and everything it was hilarious we should have taped it. Another year we played old school pictionary - guys against girls. Family Feud. Deal or No Deal. Scattegories.... This year my mom thinks they r gonna do Let's Make a Deal...

I asked her can they just "beam me up scottie" lol I am gonna stop reminiscin now because it makes me sad-der [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Waited to late to get plane tickets. The flights (LA to Memphis) were close to 500 a few weeks ago and since we would have had to buy 2 it was just a no go :-/ plus he has to work the day after thanksgiving...

I learned to sew by watching my mom, and she learned the same way. But most craft store offer classes, you could start there.

so i have been sick for the last 2 days and came back to work today.

kinda mad that I washed and twisted my hair on sunday only to have a beautiful twist out but because i was sick (and was sent home) my day 1 and day 2 were lost on no one but my dog & cat who got to watch me as i blew my nose, coughed up that little green man from the commercial and praised the porcelin king.

I was too tired to even TRY to do the twists again so today is a VBHD (VERY BAD HAIR DAY) ** Giving Thanks to the people who made headbands and scarves! ***

Whew...today has been a long day! Packing, battling traffic on the way to the airport, trying to park at the airport (almost had me late), getting through security (yeah my earrings went off walking through the detector! LOL), mini-flight change in Dallas----> wooooo, and finally, I made it to Arkansas! Yayyyy!

Already having great times with the fam! I cannot wait to eat tomorrow! Im sooo not going to hold back! Loooove soul food, and since Im not a big cooker, I only get that kind of food when I come home! So im super syked about eating greens, peas & okra, mac-n-cheese, casserole, turkey, dressing...and whatever else is in sight! LOL! Good thing I brought my running clothes, cuz imma feel so bad after Thursday, but I really don't even care! LOL!

Girl I still can't figure out why it's ok for people to say "OMG! Your so skinny." or "Girl you need to eat" but it's rude to say "OMG! your so morbidly obese." or "Girl you need to skip some meals"

double standards piss me off!

I would like to clarify and say that I don't have anything against either group; I just wanted to prove my point by making a drastic comparison.

I so agree with that! Telling ppl "you are so skinny" is very rude!

'Sho you right! Back in high school people use to always talk about my best friend, "She's loud!!", "She's fat", she's this or that. Really I think people were mad because she had more friends than anybody else, she had real friends on top of the fact that she had a lot; unlike those jealous of her surrounded by phoniness. She had a beautiful spirit, talent in all the arts & she dated better looking boys(that one had to really hurt! lol!
