Re: What Multi Are You Taking?
Great info!!!...Can you please advise on the best Cinnamon to purchase i want to give the cinnamon and honey a try
Ceylon Cinnamon
@Curly Mo: glad it was helpful. I recommend Ceylon as this is the kind that has shown to be the most effective in diabetes and weight loss.

curlyq145 wrote:@curlylea how long did it take before you saw results from biotin?
I started taking it in 2004 i belive and i would say roughly 2-3 months... i was taking GNC's Biotin along with their Hair vitamin. I continuously took it until maybe 4 months ago when i ran out... i didn't purchase a new bottle... but i started again this month!

Re: What Multi Are You Taking?
I take Women's One A Day. It seems alright. I also take additional Calcium + Magnesium and Nordic Naturals Cod Liver Oil lemon flavored. I'm not very consistent. Does anyone have tips on remembering to take vitamins? I'm interested in trying a protein supplement called Dessert has anyone tried it?

Re: What Multi Are You Taking?
My old derm recommended biotin a year ago when I was experiencing hair loss but I never started taking it because of the research I had done and saw it caused acne - i have skin trouble that has gotten worse these last 6 months. But someone said above, start taking it and if it causes a problem, stop taking it. My goal for this year now that my hair is on track is to get my skin together. I'm also starting prenates in the new year as well.

Re: What Multi Are You Taking?
I started taking boitin about two weeks ago and my skin just went haywire and I am LIVID, because I dont wear makeup...so my face is just looking bogus till it clears up!
Re: What Multi Are You Taking?
I started taking silica and hair, skin and nails vitamins about 3 weeks ago.
Re: What Multi Are You Taking?
I had to stop taking this HairFinity vitamin w/biotin and MSM. It broke my face out and my eczema went wild [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]. I broke out in places that haven't been irritated in years. It took some cortizone 10 to get me together, I'm over it.

I'm taking a multivitamin for Women called Opti-Women by Optimum. I chose this one b/c it was recommended to me at the Vitamin Shoppe mostly b/c I work out. It has made a huge difference in my hair, skin, and nails. I also take a GNC B vitamin for stress.

Im taking Maxi Hair by Country Life. For some reason it makes me a little nauseous, probably because they're large and its two per serving.

Im taking the same pills. They are HUGE and they taste really gross but Ive been taking them for about two months and my hair is growing like a weed! The only time I feel nauseous is when I take them without eating something, other than that Im fine.

Re: What Multi Are You Taking?
I'm taking prenatals, Boitin and B-12 vitamins. I've been taking these pills for about 2 months. I haven't had any skin issues. I would like to take Maxi Hair by Country Life pills, but I am horrible with swallowing huge pills.

I take One A Day Weight Smart, more so for the energy it gives. It's a great metabalism booster, with the added health benifits.

Re: What Multi Are You Taking?
Great thread! Thanks everyone for sharing!
I've been taking SuperNutrition's Simply One Women multi-vitamin and mineral supplement daily for about 5 years. It's similar to the Rainbow Light Women's One, but a little more expensive with different formulations and more extras. Here's why I love it:
- It doesn't turn my pee neon, so I know it's digestible and the formulation isn't excessive.
- It doesn't give me a stomach ache even though it includes iron and B-complex. It's also available without iron.
- It includes a greenfoods supplement. I take some green foods in a daily smoothie (spirulina, barley grass), but when I travel for work I can't due to customs restrictions. Since my vitamin has it, I know I'm covered while I travel.
- It includes an antioxident blend.
- It's uses organic ingredients wherever possible.
I also regularly take in addition to the multi: extra calcium, Vitamins C, D3, & E, biotin, and mixed carotene's mostly per Dr. Weil's Optimum Health suggestions. Also daily acidophilus/probiotics, fish oil.
I occasionally take: NOW liver detoxifier, and a mushroom-based immune booster if I've consumed something bad for my body! LOL
I tend to experience only stress-related health changes (e.g. acne, colds at the end of an intense work/school/life project) for which I'd like to find some kind of vitamin, mineral, or herbal remedy to help balance my hormones. But if I do get sick, I am for a shorter period of time than my friends or my partner and he is in excellent shape but doesn't take supplements.
CurlyNikki, I'm interested in the link for the "top 25...independent study on multi effectiveness/ingredients".

Re: What Multi Are You Taking?
now im taking the gnc multi vitamin in the powder form, so I mix it with soy milk and it tastes like chocolate slim fast (which I like). I stopped taking the pills cuz they got on my nerves and I drink the shake as a snack a few hours before my workout so the shake works alot better for me because it goes directly to the blood stream and doesnt have to take as much time to break down like the pills and such.
